The U 995 and memorial/museum was the highlight for me. Also enjoyed the beachfront and bars etc around the boat harbour and the one hour ferry trip with it's numerous stops going to Kiel was very interesting. Would recommend staying here rather than Kiel .

Lots to see with the U-Boot, the Naval monument and the quaint fishing village. Really enjoyed eating at the Laboe Fish Kitchen. Great selection and good food. Bit quirky on ordering but once we understood it was easy.
Beautiful located hotel directly at the sea with renovated and very spacious rooms. Delicious breakfast - quality comes before quantity here. The staff is friendly, parking is available directly at the hotel, although spaces are quite narrow. The restaurant is also a recommendation, offering excellent fish dishes on the beautiful terrace.

The room itself and breakfast were basic yet acceptable for 2 stars’ standards. Only “barrel” coffee and no non-German channels on tv.
