The breakfast was wonderful and we also enjoyed a lovely meal at the hotel one evening.

I want to say that they are great people from all points of view and the location and the breakfast are a dream!
As a parenthesis, which has nothing to do with the comment above, is the fact that I left my jacket at the reception and they sent it by courier directly to my home (I would have wanted to pay for the shipping but they they sent it for free!)

Beautiful quiet place in middle of Spreewald nature - lots of culture, cycling, and boating on the canals. The property is next to the water and their food is excellent, especially the vegetarian options. Highly recommended!

The area is simply enchanting, deep in the beautiful Spreewald (forest of the river Spree).
The whole place is surrounded by water channels and you can rent paddle boats to explore this natural beauty. If this sounds like too much effort for you, there are also organized tours and someone will show you the area.
You can taste local specialties as well as cold beer at the many "beer-gardens" along the way, and enjoy the peace and calm of this UNESCO world heritage site.
Just one recommendation, if you visit it during summer time: be prepared to face the multitude of insects and make sure that at your accommodation they have panels to protect your windows from insects. Especially during hot days, you want to be able to get fresh air!
