We were taken to at least two eating places: One near the train station; The Curry House Restaurant where I had a taste of Pork and another restaurant, southern end of FAU Institute, we had very tasty Pizza.
Getting around Erlangen is quite easy considering affordable buses are all over the place. Next time I would avoid moving around the city by taxi instead of buses

Just easy place to find.
Just easy place to find. But too close to the motor way unfortunately. No hot water unclean Parkin area rubble in the parking bay. I did complain but they only refunded a 10 % as we had no hot water after a long journey . Very bossy reception manager. Not helpful .

It is an okay town.
It is an okay town. Being a student town, there is always something happening near city center (Hugenottenplatz) that will suit your liking. It is well connected with Nürnberg with both S-bahn and RE, and also has well connected bus network within the town. I recommend walking from Neuermarkt to Schlossplatz, or have a picnic in Schlossgarten. That is the most vibrant part of the town, with many shops. Occasionally, there are people playing live music in this path too.

As a tourist base for the city Erlangen and the neighboring cities Fürth and Nuremberg the hotel is really well suited. Car parking in the underground car park of the hotel (13,00 € / day) is possible. Breakfast is unfortunately, in our view, its price (22.90 € per person) is not worth it. During the week there are some alternatives in the immediate vicinity (city center) of the hotel.
Overall: recommended value!

Small town but has a charm to it.
Small town but has a charm to it. It’s very lively especially during weekends. The buildings are beautiful (*it kinda reminds me of Disneyland in Paris). The streets are also very clean, though I’ve never seen any garbage cars or scavengers.
Cool city for a max 3 day business-stay, otherwise the city will make you become really bored. You don’t need bus tickets since the town is so small.
Places to see: Botanical Garden, Neustädter Kirche, Orangerie, Schloßplatz, Hugenottenplatz Place to shop: Erlangen Arcaden
Place to eat: Kitzmann Bräuschänke, Teehaus

Went to Erlangen primarily as a good base to visit Annafest in nearby Forcheim. Was pleasantly surprised by the town. Not a touristy place, but really nice nontheless. Very clean, easy to get around, great transport links, plenty of choice for eating out, and a lovely park.
It is impossible to get the check in if you dont have German number.
As there is no reception, and you have to call them (without German number and password) how do you make sure that you will get the keys.
I arrived at 8 pm at night (which was within check in time) there was no telephone to get help. You will be left stranded if you dont have German number to call them or dont have wifi.
Fortunately in my case I find a person who was German living in the appartment called for me and sorted out the keys for me.
I loved the overall theme of compact yet efficatious use of space. The appartment had all the modern amenities one could ask for. The cutting edge lighting system was impressive. Corinna at the reception went beyond the call of duty patiently answering my questions by email or phone. Thank you for the professionalism, Corinna! Safe and cheap parking and a well equipped fitness studio added to the impression of this being the best appartment on offer in Bavaria. Absolutely recommend this place.
We made a last minute booking for the New Year and the hotel had a good price at such a short notice, especially in the centre of Erlangen. The hotel has 2 buildings apparently, we stayed in the 2nd one which does not have the restaurant and Is located toward the back street via small courtyard. Room was spacious and clean maybe a bit dated. Strangely it had a little kitchenette but without any equipment, not even a kettle.
For our needs, great value for money.
Friendly and efficient on the phone. I had a problem downloading the application that gave me access to the apartment. With a simple phone call, without even stopping my car, they resolved everything remotely. Once I got there, I could easily access my apartment. The place was spacious and impeccably clean. I have to go back to Erlangen frequently and this will definitely be my final stop.
On a transit travel, close to the motorway, on the edge of the residential and business areas. Good quality for the price and very helpful staff. The bar is open 24/7 with food available (yes, it's a deep frozen pizza, but it was life-saving after a 13hrs drive). The car park is in the courtyard, no gates but still away from the general public's eye.
The apartment is spacious and decorated in good taste. The bathroom is large and modern. The kitchen is complete and has all the appliances one could possibly need to prepare any meal. The location is very central and at walking distance to bus stops, the main railroad station, the old town and the Schlossgarten. Mrs. Lanig is very nice and helpful.
This is an absolutely charming hotel in the heart of the city. It’s walkable to all the area sights. The Altmann’s are a wonderful couple who take pride in their establishment. The breakfast buffet is excellent, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. I am already planning another trip and will certainly return to this beautiful little hotel.
We spent two nights at this hotel in the second half of August. This hotel seemed to us to be a good choice for exploring the surroundings of Nuremberg. The price was very fair and the hotel has free parking. Everything else is in the standard of the Ibis Budget hotel. Small but clean rooms, shower, toilet, WiFi ...
Room was equipped with stylish and quality furniture and appliances. It's a bit small but useful. Espresso lab was very good to spend time during the day. Not having a reception felt a bit strange at first but we didn't have any problem related to not having a reception. Breakfast was also very good.
the hotel located at the downtown Erlangen, from Hauptbahnhof only takes 10 minutes by foot, the reception service was great! I stayed at the Einzel Zimmer this time, was super cosy and they have even Wasserkocher and Hairdryer in the room! would definitely visit there again:-)
Quite pleasant hotel. Close to the motorway, which matter in my case, with some buses coming from Erlangen train station stopping near by. I was welcomed by friendly staff and the room was clean and spacious, offered for reasonable price. Quite good value for money.
Anani and her husband were wonderful hosts! When I asked to heat the room as I was feeling little cold, they immediately arranged a heater! They were so kind and helpful! I am looking forward to stay with them If I visit Erlangen again.
This apartment is very comfortable and well equipped for families. With young or older children. The breakfast was also very nice. We could park in front of the hotel.
Stayed here transiting Germany. Perfect location in that sense. Self check-in without problem. Rooms are relatively small however very clean and very comfortable.
