This 4-star hotel in central Karlsruhe offers modern rooms with Wi-fi internet, public parking. It lies just steps from the Kongresszentrum S-Bahn Train Station.
Very nice hotel with restaurant and also reasonable prices. I stayed for 2 nights. It's a bit of a long walk to the University ( 3.5 - 4 kms and took me around 45 mins). But it's a walk through the woods, so it's enjoyable. I took a taxi on the second day. The caretaker is very friendly and arranged breakfast at my prefered time ( which is included in the room charge). She also offered me a free bike to ride to the Uni, but I preferred to walk. All in all, very good experience.
The big plus of the hotel is its staff. They are extremely friendly and that always gives you a good feeling. The room was spotless and sufficiently equipped. They have a little restaurant on the first floor (closed on Mondays); nothing special but more of what you can find in more expensive hotels. It is a perfect location if you have KIT business (20 min to walk or 8 min by bus; don't take the tram; the last tram station is within the KIT campus and therefore non-public).
The hotel Mille Stelle provides very good value for money in Eggenstein - Leopoldshafen. Inn type accommodation can be difficult to secure in the town or quite expensive, with limited alternatives. The added bonus is its situation above an Italian Pasta and Pizza restaurant, with good food. Room is typical for a German guesthouse, and reasonably comfortable. We have stayed here before and will do so in the future.
To be honest, upon arrival the hotel was a bit disappointing as it looks a bit run down. But, it is actually very nice! The inside is totally fine, the rooms are very clean, tidy and pretty spacious and the bathroom is also very good.
