The Pension was located high up in the valley with gorgeous views from my room. The host put himself out to bring me up from the valley floor - my mobility I'd impaired and I was warn out! The house was delightful and very welcoming, despite tge lateness of my arrival. And the room was so quiet - I was quickly deep asleep.
The owner even went out of his way to return me to the railhead in the morning.
Breakfast, rolls, meat, and coffee was lovely and contributed to my overall sense of calmness. Fantastic!

We are very pleased with our stay in Parkotel Flora. After our first accommodation fell through last minute, while already on our way and almost there, I got on booking and scrambled to find a new place to stay that would accept dogs. We are so lucky that it was this hotel we landed at. Couldn't be happier.
Booked and called to confirm. That's when the fantastic experience started.
The location is great, less than 5 min walk to the center of Bad Grund with a choice of cute cafes and restaurants, bus stops, and a grocery store. On-Site parking is free and available.
The rooms were a bit dated but still of better quality than some more modern hotels in the area. Quality over quantity seems to be the motto here. Everything is in fantastic condition and the rooms were very cozy and homey. The layout is very nice. Big windows provide a very nice view complemented by a balcony to take in the fresh air.
The bedroom is separate which is nice. The bathrooms were modern and extremely nice.
Everything was very clean. Despite the hotel being very full it was never too loud.
All meals at this hotel are exceptional. As we arrived in the afternoon and decided to indulge in coffee and cake and let me tell you, the cheesecake is to die for.
We stayed here with our dog and everyone was very nice to our pup. Hiking trails behind the property allow you to go for a quick walk in the morning so your dog can do its business. We had a designated spot at the restaurant.
Altogether it was a fabulous stay. Very relaxing atmosphere. We will be back.

Bad Grund is in a perfect distance to the motor way and it is worth to spend the extra travel time. It is a traditional town in western Harz, where the time somehow runs slower. Everybody is really friendly and positive towards visitors. We always chat with all kind of people there.
Everything was perfect - smooth and friendly check in, convenient parking, clean and spacious apartment, cozy sauna, delicious and healthy breakfast options. For eggs they even offer different ways of cooking freshly. Nice decorations everywhere in the restaurant and the hotel room. Beautiful garden outside, we already plan to come back in summer time and stay here!! Worth mentioning is also the location, it’s located in a beautiful small town, where you could directly start your hike.
Nice location in the centre of town, good off street parking (always welcome on a motorcycle), friendly staff, excellent buffet breakfast, very helpful and accommodating when we needed to stay an extra night for my wife to recover after she became ill (a dose of food poisoning but nothing to do with the hotel), room(s) we’re spacious, clean, well furnished and comfortable. A good base for exploring the Harz Mountains
Amazing little hotel in the most beautiful location, so peaceful and quiet you feel a million miles away from everything. The guy who runs the hotel is lovely and friendly, very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing, warm fresh bread rolls, fresh meat, cheese and eggs. Would love to go back here and stay for longer in the summer months!
We booked a triple room and we had plenty of space for 2 adults and a teenager.
The hotel room was super clean.
Beds were comfortable and we had a good night.
The free car park was convenient because it was just in front of the hotel.
The host was really nice: he made our very late check-in very smooth.

Superb hotel. I’ve staid in fancier, but the ‘apartment’ was more than adequate and the restaurant was great. More important the staff/owner were very helpful and friendly and the price very competitive. Bad Grund is also a very attractive (and small) town.
