I first visited in 1979 (as a student) and then regularly over the next decade, through work. This visit was to show my son a beautiful part of Upper Bavaria.
My return, 30 years later, came as a shock. I was struck by the number of shop closures, down-market eateries (all there was, open) and rough people, hanging around on a Saturday evening. The solution to finding somewhere for us to eat was to drive 3km to the Spa and the hotel attached to the bicycle museum (more miserable pizza!).
I hope my comments reach the council, in Bad Bruckenau, as I reflect on where they have positioned the town's offering to visitors: sad, so very sad!
Absolutely perfect for our needs. We needed a base for a twin town visit to Bad Bruckenau, with much socialising with friends in the evenings, but also a place for my wife to work during the day which needed fast and efficient wifi.
Nice and well maintained hotel. Breakfast was served on a tray in the room, probably due to Corona and was fine. All in all a pleasant hotel for one night. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Comfortable family managed hotel and restaurant. Kind people and very service oriented. Room was comfortable but not outstanding though excellent value for price.
