Karlovy Vary owes its affluent grandeur to no fewer than 13 hot springs and a warm water river. Add to this its colourful façades and tree-lined hill setting, and it’s easy to see why it’s one of Europe’s most sophisticated spa towns.
The best views are from the Deer Leap and Diana Tower lookouts, both high above the Grandhotel Pupp, a famous 5-star hotel which starred as James Bond’s gambling retreat in ‘Casino Royale’. It also hosts an International Film Festival, but the city is really about the waters, a fact reflected in its English name – Carlsbad.
You can take the waters at the 5 springs under the Mill Colonnade, and the wrought-iron Market Colonnade houses 2 more. The Park Colonnade employs a similarly impressive style to protect 3 springs, while a geyser bursts up in the Hot Spring Colonnade. The Castle Tower overlooks the Castle Colonnade waters, and a thermal pool at Spa Hotel Thermal overlooks the city.
The beautiful churches of Karlovy Vary include the Russian-styled Church of St Peter and St Paul. The Moser Glassworks produce suitably high quality products, and the Jan Becher Museum provides an idea of what to fill them with – local Becherovka bitter.
Accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury hotels, city centre apartments and guest houses near Karlovy Vary Airport.

In early June, I can say that Karlovy Vary is magical as there are not a lot of tourist.
It is essential to consider where you will have treatments done prior and directly upon arrival. For collagen and uplifting facials, make appointments at Alžbětiny Lázně, a.s.
Must visit Hotel Pup restaurant/bar.
There will be little to do after sunset.

It is a beautiful place.
It is a beautiful place. There is a lovely walk up to the tower, you can drink "the cure" and so many places to take coffee and cake. Take a day trip to Locket (ok castle but stunning walks) by bus but note direct buses are only at certain times. I missed the direct bus so used the Bolt taxi app which was cost effective and quick. 4 days is enough for Karlovy Vary and one day to visit Locket. Elisabet Spa in the town center of Karlovy Vary has cost effective options for wellbeing which are cheaper than hotel prices. You can email or walk in. Do go to the Thermal Spa hotel rooftop pool and soak in the thermal water which is the only fully fed thermal swimming pool in the City. Get a 3 hour ticket. You will see which pool is the thermal one as you see the colours are different than normal chlorinated pool water. I recommend dinner in Grandhotel Pupp but it is only available to hotel guests on Friday and Saturday. I went on Thursday and got 2 courses, a cocktail, glass of champagne and a recommended glass of wine with my main. It was unnaturally quiet in the restaurant but food and service was divine. Prices very reasonable in comparison.to 5* dining in other cities. They also have an attached cafe where you can take coffee and cake (cakes are very yummy) or a glass of champagne.
All in all, a wonderful trip..

There's quite a big 'commercial' town centre, although - like many - we didn't visit that part, but stayed around the old spa town around the Tepla river. The buildings and of course the river and springs are lovely, and the old town streets spread up to either side of the river. The place is well-maintained, and there are plenty of places to eat/drink and some nice tourist spots. The hills around offer plenty of marked and unmarked tourist walks, with easy access (for the fairly fit) to some of the towers and other spots around the town.

Karlovy Vary is a fabulous place, full of beautiful historical buildings. Additionally you can treat yourself with a mineral water pouring from the many fountains that you'll pass during a city walk - just remember to have your own cup or other vessel for water. We were quite astonished that Karlovy Vary is a kind of colony for reach Russians, and when you walk through the city the dominant language that you hear is Russian. If you'd like to experience local Czech cultures and traditional Czech food, it's just a walk away from the center.

The city itself is beautiful.
The city itself is beautiful. Its location at the riverside with historical-looking buildings and hot springs is exceptional. However, what the city has in architecture, it lacks in facilities, especially restaurants. In general, there are only two major types of places where you can eat: beer houses and places serving Italian cuisine. The food in most of these is pretty good, but it is super expensive - two or three times pricier than what is considered normal in the rest of the country. I figure that you are paying extra for being served in the middle of nowhere at the national border, but it just felt too much. I now think of the city as being home to the posh millionaires who couldn't care less about how much they spend on food and other services.
the location near by the hot spring ( around 10 minutes)
staff is efficient, welcoming, always ready to help,
special thanks to Marika and Violeta Sumatohina,
and Nicola in medical center , they offer various medical procedures and spa treatment
breakfast is fair, the suites is spacious place with 2 rooms and a living room
beautiful lobby, safe neighborhood, exactly in front of the river, near by a mini market,,
near bus stop. around the hotel dozen of luxury shops, laundry is very reasonable price.
The Savoy Westend Hotel was fabulous.
It is the best hotel in Karlovy Vary!
The staff was wonderful
Our spacious room was beautiful with a lovely view on Saint Peter and Paul Church.
The hotel is very beautiful, incredibly tidy and polished.
The Restaurant served amazing food
Huge thanks to the General manager Aleksander B. and reception manager pani Gabriela .
They were extremely helpful, kind and very professional they are super great customer friendly persons.
Our hotel room was actually two rooms apartment with one entrance and two separate rooms and two bathrooms on the top floor. I was extremely satisfied, the hotel room was clean, spacious, quiet and with nice view.
Receptionist was nice and very helpful. I personally liked that the hotel is in walkable distance into the historic downtown but not on the busy street. The breakfast was also very pleasant with nice variety of food.
We had a lovely room overlooking the street. The room was large and beautifully appointed. It was sunny and had a great view. The bathroom felt luxurious.
The spa area is small but with a lovely pool with steam room & sauna. The breakfast was served until 10 or 10.30 which was really nice. the food was good. We were able to store our luggage while we waited to check in. Great location for all Karlovy Vary has to offer.
My partner and I stayed in Quisisana Palace suites across the bridge, it was beautiful. We enjoyed all the perks of Grandhotel Pupp including lovely breakfasts and access to the spa. The room was gorgeous and clean and very large, the bathroom was beautiful and the heated floors were very welcomed in the cold winter weather! The staff were very quick and had great attention to detail. Already recommended to everyone :)
Beautiful and quiet apartment with extremely comfortable bed and sleeping sofa. Very tasteful, Scandinavian design and good quality materials - massive wood on bed and doors and good quality towels. Excellent location just in the middle of the town with good proximity to public transport and right next yo the best spa resort - Saunia in hotel Thermal. Very good communication with the staff.
Breakfast buffet was extensive, great and very fresh. Room was very nice, bed was very good, table with 2 chairs, an additional "easy" chair. Bathroom was spacious, new towels were provided each single day. Staff was very friendly. Elevator available. So I would highly recommend Hotel Romania as a very nive place to stay and spend your holiday in Karlovy Vary. A+++ recommendation.
We were unsure about what to do with the car just driving to the hotel, but staff immediately met us and directed us as well as getting a porter right away to get our bags. Check-in was fast and friendly as was the staff. We used the pool and spa facilities which were excellent. Our room was very large and comfortable. We expected to pay more and the value was worth it.
Amazing apartment right across from the Mill Colonnade! So much more than we expected. We were on the first floor with the spa just outside our door. Two balconies - one off the bedroom and one off the dining room. Very quiet at night Very comfortable bed. Walkable to everything there is to see in Karlovy Vary. Apartment was decorated beautifully.
The most beautiful and luxurious hotel in Karlovy Vary with the best location and perfect service. Everything is very new and sparkling clean, wonderful interior design and atmosphere. The staff on the reception and in the breakfast room were kind and helpful. We asked for a late check out and they gave us more time. The cleaning was also great.
The pool, spa and all these things TOP! . Very nice, very easy to get there, to pay, to relax to enjoy The room is perfect, clean, and comfortable and the view is stunning. For me the best view to stay in Karlovy Vary, because the hotel building is the most ugly in town and you don't see it from your point of view.
This is a spacious apartment in a nice building with a lift. It overlooks a quiet road with minimal traffic noise. It is easy walking distance to the Grand Hotel Pupp and the base of the Diana Funicular. It was well heated and the kitchen well equipped. There are some restaurants nearby.
Excellent location, cozy atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, nice historical building, well organized hotel, very good restaurant "Paris", good sport facilities, many offers for spa & health treatments, very good breakfast - 5 days are even not enough to discover the hotel :-)
It was a spacious and modernized apartment in zone 1 of Karlovy Vary. Easily accessible by car.
The apartment is bright in color and has the right atmosphere, which feels very nice and homey for a traveler.
Loved the service and the advice to get some coffee at Pinky Boyz!
The spa/wellness area was very nice and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast each morning was just what we needed and the hotel itself was very centrally located, easy walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. Would highly recommend staying here.
The hotel is centrally located and has a beautiful architecture. It has a limited parking space, so of you have a car - book in advance (as we did) and you can leave your car just in front of the hotel. The rooms are big and spacious. The staff is friendly.
There is not a single thing we did not love. Our trip to Europe we stayed in over 15 hotels and this was by far our favourite. The best beds in Europe! The location is phenomenal and the hotel feel very luxurious. We loved the bath for a spa experience…
Spacious,, comfortable apartament, nicely decorated., fully equipped. Swimming pool clean, with enough space, although path to the spa centre is quite tricky. Great location, 10 min walk to the Karlovy Vary main attractions, restaurants and shops.
Breakfast was very good and the service also. Very clean hotel and with a lot of space. Wellness was also good. The area is wonderful, nature at its best! Very good food also!
