Protaras has busy but beautiful beaches, a wide variety of types of accommodation to suit most budgets, a great selection of food and drink venues along the Strip & the surrounding area plus if you're self catering there's even a Lidl. Most venues have staff who speak various languages, all speak English. A great place to holiday if your after sun, sea and food & drink. There are several "British" pubs that serve a good selection of food and will show the football if that's of interest, plus Cypriot, Italian, Indian, pizza and burger restaurants. Also ice-cream and souvenir shops. If you want to join the younger crowd there are regular buses to Ayia Napa.

Protaras is suited to families and couples who want a quieter area than Ayia Napa. There are a number of beautiful beaches within walking distance and there is a very good number of restaurants at affordable prices. It is very easy and very good to get around with buses coming about every 15/20 mins, and they run up until 4am. The fee to go to the neighbouring areas is only 1.50 euros each, each way.

Protaras is fine for those wanting a zesty time. I visit for peace and quiet but have eaten in many of the restaurants in the past and also had half board in the Hotel. Protaras is, for those not restricted by mobility, easily accessed and even at my age a leisurely stroll will make all it has to offer available if you so wish. Konnos Bay requires a car or bus ride but the walk down and up could be challenging especially in overbearing heat. Cape greko has its rugged side to it but nice. Protaras town itself has more than enough to occupy anyone if you like sun, sand and sea and tourist shopping / browsing and more places to eat and relax than you could possibly patronise in a 2 or so week holiday.

Protaras is amazing for beautiful beaches, some sandy and some pebbles. Stunning views and coastal walk. Lots of restaurants by the harbour. Not overly busy in May and possibility to do a few excursions on land and sea/mountains. You're 2h ISH from Paphos which may have more nightlife if that's what you're after.

I went to Protaras for work. I didn't like it. It is touristic and of poor quality in general. You don't feel like you are in Cyprus; it's just a resort. Many waiters and assistants in restaurants and stores are foreigners, and they don't speak a word of Greek!
Nice place to stay in Protaras. First line from the best beach of Protars. Location is really perfect. Also the city center is just 200 meters away. Hotel has a lot of comfortable sunbeds in front of beach and near the pool.
Food on the breakfast and at dinner is enough different and quality. I like different menu type for dinner for every weekday (Mexican, Japanize, Cyprus and so on).
Pool was clean and not overcrowded, when we have stayed.
Absolutely amazing hotel! Rooms were modern, clean and beds comfy. The water park was really good for the kids. After visiting quite a few hotels in Cyprus the food was by far the best we’ve had, really tasty and lots of choice. The staff were really friendly and the kids entertainers were beyond amazing! The kids loved them and they always put loads of activities on for all ages. We can’t wait to visit again.
One of the best hotels I've ever been in. I had an all inclusive sea view room in top floor which had a great view. Best thing in the hotel was massive garden, where time flew by. I was travelling on the first week of April, so there wasn't too many people. Sea was already warm enough for swimming, but I heard that swimming pool was heated 28 degrees.
Good points:
- Friendly staff at reception and restaurant! Especially Dely - of the the waiters at the restaurant. He was very polite and smiley!
- Beachfront - hotel is right on the beach, one of the best beaches in Cyprus!
- Pool wasn't too busy - perhaps because a lot of guests prefer the beach or because there weren't enough sunbeds by the pool
Best hotel to stay in Protaras. View from our room exceptional, especially at sunrise. The room size was ok. Nice swimming pools with a great bar. Staff very attentive. Food is good in both restaurants. Ginger restaurant by far the best option for dinner in Protars.
