Great location and absolutely stunning surrounds. It really felt like we were staying in the middle of the jungle, particularly with the resident howler monkeys hooting and hollering.

Monteverde was very different from the other locations we visited .... Rainier, colder but most beautiful. Check out the Chiara Hotel (one of the 20 best romantic restaurants in the world.) What an experience! Expensive but worth it. Book in advance like 2 or 3 months as only 8 very unique personal tables.

100 % Aventura zipline with Tarzan jump was awesome, rappling was a disappointment as we thought it would be going down waterfall but was just jumping on the trampoline.
Dinner at Bon Appetit in Santa Elena was great, good food and excellent service.
Night tour was a big disappointment
Roads are not well maintained and our car would not go up at Santa Elena Resrve

Monteverde is a great place to stay for nature tourists that are wanting to experience a legitimate cloud forest. I've been several times and absolutely love it. I would suggest not only visiting some of the several nature reserves, but also the orchid garden and the frog zoo. Oh yeah! try to find a night tour, also. A lot of the most interesting animals are nocturnal.

Such a beautiful culture and land. The cloud forest is magical and the guides are passionate about sharing what makes it unique and about preserving it. The falls at El Tigre are an absolute must, and Los Pinos Cabins offer one of the most memorable and relaxing accommodations I've experienced in recent years.

Loved my stay at Mariposa, lovely clean and quiet cabins in great surroundings. Breakfast is available over the road and there are a few other options within walking distance too. Esteban is a wonderful host! He gave me lots of information on getting around and places to see. Booked taxis and also helped me out with my laundry. Great location for monteverde cloud forest, curi cancha and enternal childrens rainforest. All within walking distance. Santa elena is a short taxi or bus ride away.
Everything we needed for our 3 nights in Monteverde. Very helpful staff. The soda restaurant next door was tasty and good value (especially when it was raining and we didn’t want to walk ~8 mins into the town). We went on 2 tours and both times we got a shuttle or were picked up straight from the hotel. Would recommend.
Helpful staff, Miss Fernanda is a person on right place, bus stops to Monteverde and Tilarán in front of the hotel, many shops and restaurants around, the price was O.K., breakfast.
Small hotel at the entrance of Monteverde zone. Manage by young educated people lovers of MTB they will share mtb routes if required they will be able to repair your bike if needed
Absolutely stunning location right next to the Monteverde cloud forest.
The hotel has two hot tubs, and we really loved a cozy sunset soak as the rain drizzled around us.
