Miss Francia´s Home, hotel in Santa Catalina Island

Featuring a terrace and a deck, Miss Francia´s Home offers accommodation near the beach in Santa Catalina Island, within a 5-minute walk from Warwick fort. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar.

Miss Francia was a wonderful host and always available to answer our questions. The room itself is incredible spacious with great air-conditioning and a mini-fridge provided for the course of the stay. There was also Wifi available, but this was not always reliable (Providencia-wide problem). The breakfast was provided at nearby (~5 min walk) Big Mama Sweet Taste, which was delicious and included eggs, fresh juice, bread and coffee. She even prepared breakfast an hour early for us the morning of our flight! In the BnB, there is also a small kitchen and balcony available for us, as well as kayaks for free use. Miss Francia even helped me find my debit card when I had lost it in the main town! Cannot say enough good things about staying here.

Shell Sea B & B, hotel in Santa Catalina Island

Shell Sea B & B is located in Providencia, just in front of a dock with views of Santa Isabel Bay. You will be steps away from the beach.

Manfred and Kenia were super nice, welcoming hosts and made our stay very special. They helped us with every request that we had (ie organising tours, taxis or scooters for rent) and were always very friendly. We also had the opportunity to take their kayak for free. The room was cleaned every day and it was super clean! We can highly recommend the stay!

Santa Catalina is the smaller island north of Providence.

Santa Catalina is the smaller island north of Providence. It's quieter, walking-only, and connected to the other island via a bridge. In a way, this is the prettier island, and it's got the historic fort plus pirate hideouts to the north (accessable via swimming or boat). It's got a tiny, quiet beach which is absolutely gorgeous. Both islands combined are tiny and easy to get around, so I ate on Providencia mostly, though there are cafes on Santa Catalina and I bought drinks and snacks at the shops on Santa Catalina. I liked staying on Santa Catalina and would stay there next time.

Great views over the bay towards Providencia and the Old Town. A couple of the restaurants were closed as it was low season - just before the rains and the annual black crab migration down from the mountains to release their eggs in the sea. We enjoyed the street food at Big Mama’s.
