I had a lovely big room divided between bedroom, lounge, bathroom and an outside yard to sit in. A hairdryer, toiletries, an iron and breakfast were included. Everywhere was very clean, lots of hot water in the shower and the staff were always polite and helpful. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and it was a great location, being a short walk from the main plaza with cafes and restaurants and a short taxi ride from the bus terminal and airport.

Great location - the hotel is 2 minutes walking to the central bus terminal, so ideal for arrival/departure from/to Cali, Armenia and further on. 10 minutes walking to city center, and with supermarket next door. At Christmas the town was festive and fun.
At Christmas the town was festive and fun. There were good restaurants, plenty of local vendors with food, handicrafts, and sweets. There were good coffee shops, too. With some effort we did find places to go birding and hiking near town. We had a great time, even taking a bus to hotsprings in the mountains one day and to a traditional indigenous market in Silvia another.

Popayan is a very historical city, dating back to the mid-1500s. Many of the central area buildings are original, over 400 years old. If you're a history buff you'll really enjoy a visit to Popayan. The only real negative is all the graffiti that has been painted on just about every building.

Been there before could spend a couple of full days there, this time we were passing through, since the last time I was there the city looked a little beaten down from the riots on the whole tax thing.. Cosmetically, it was really sad, the youth need to understand destroying tourist cities is just killing their own future. Colombia really has the potential to become a world power in tourism if they keep to their culture and don’t let themselves become over run by the tourist machine..

Popayan is a charming little town. It has a rich history and is quite important to Colombia 🇨🇴. I enjoyed the all white buildings and the viewpoints available if you are willing to make the short climb up to the lookout . The people are very kind and willing to stop what they are doing to give directions. The History museum was small but very interesting. For $7000 pesos you receive a very complete tour, although it is in Spanish only. The puente del humilladero (Bridge of the Humiliator) is beautiful and rich in history as well. Nearby there is a modern mall if you want a break from antiquity.

Popayan has lots to offer tourists and its inhabitants are eager to welcome visitors. Make sure to take advantage of the twice daily free tours provided by college students, which leave from the tourist office in the main square. You'll find out loads about the importance of this cute town and be able to peek inside many of the old buildings. Also, try some of the local food at Mora Castilla, which turned out to be a delightful surprise!

Love this small town with a lot of areas to calm down and chill al little bit, dring good coffee and eatsome cake, buy food on the street, visit the museums. Its really beautiful if you need a break of big cities for one or to days.
The rooms are themed in keeping with the property with authentic touches. The room had a big patio and nice view onto the terrace. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but seems standard in most SA hotels
We had lunch in the restaurant and breakfast both were very good. The restaurants cafes surrounding are a bit average.
The old town is not that interesting or attractive in comparison to others we have visited but if you stopping here Hotel Dann is a good option. Great secure parking at the back
Very nice apartment with great views over some of the historical area of Popayan. Modern, spacious, fully equipped. My room was large. One room (the room I had) is much better than the others, so try to get the large room with the ensuite bathroom. All rooms have access to a balcony with great views.
People have obviously lived there so it's fully equipped, including a washing machine, bookshelves, art work on the walls. There's a cleaning woman too.
The hotel is situated in the city centre. There are lots of restaurants around and a tourism office across the town square. The town is picturesque with white colonial houses all around and well worth stopping by.
The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very professional. The bed was made everyday and the bathroom is very clean with hot showers.

1. Very nice staff. They attempted to help and tried their best the whole visit. They offered to refund me and a free night due to the stress I had during my stay. They are really trying everything to make their guests happy. The complaints below are so future travelers know what they are booking, because I felt that I wasn't well informed by booking.com before choosing this hostel .

Everyone was friendly and helpful. They accommodated food requests and the staff kept the room tidy and clean. Good pizzas, too! The staff made suggestions on things to do and places to visit. I'd encourage people to visit the La Plazuela Hotel. It is not, however, a budget hotel if that's what you are looking for.
The hotel was charming to say the least, and I felt very connected to the location's history and spirit. There are a lot of nuances, and I could feel the city of Popayan within its walls. The bed was comfortable, the halls were quiet, and most of all the staff was friendly, helpful, and lovely.

Great location (small town so it’s all very easy to walk to). Comfortable and lots of space. Fully equipped kitchen to make some quick meals. Showers were hot. Everything you need for a trip to Popayan. Owner will meet you to greet you and provide keys.
