The hotel is spectacular and they gave me an upgrade to the room on the top floor, which has a jacuzzi and everything. However, I went out to work and when I came back, the curtain was on the floor, I told 3 different staff members to please fix it and no one even came up to check what had happened. Thank goodness it wasn't the blackout that did fall, it was the curtain, because if it had been the blackout, I wouldn't have been able to sleep and no one would have done anything.
But otherwise, it was fine.

Despite all the negative you tend to hear, I never felt unsafe, the food is all amazing, the people are friendly and the over all atmosphere is relaxing, the driving is next level insane, but once you get used to eat you notice you don't actually see many accidents compared to home. I will definitely return.
Be smart and you will be safe, where in the world does this not apply.

Cali is a very hospitable city, great people, good restaurants and hotels, interesting geography especially as you travel around the outskirts. But the roads are the WORST. I won't drive there, because of the gazillions of motos that float around your car like mosquitoes. I've driven in Mexico City and Paris and this is worse. And the sidewalks, generally, need to be repaired. We love to walk, but we're getting a little older and having to negotiate around broken concrete on the sidewalks in a hilly environment is just not fun. But definitely worth a visit. We're told that you have to be careful, and we were (there's street crime) but we didn't experience any and the people we met were universally wonderful. Colombians are very courteous people and I really appreciate that aspect of their culture. I need to learn from them.

I've been to Cali twice and my experience has left me planning to explore other areas of Colombia. The people are friendly, food is fresh and tasty and the area is beautiful and CLEAN! I've never seen cleaner roads and public spaces anywhere.

Cali is so amazing and underrated... but I think that's a good thing. Make sure you go to Mulato Cabaret for the experience of a lifetime! The zoo is not bad either. There's tons of outdoor activities to do in mountains and rivers too.

We traveled to watch the Feria de Cali, and we felt very safe, it was absolutely incredible. Taxi drivers very friendly, people in Cali very nice and super helpful. We are coming back this year again. We loved it so much, the gastronomy is incredible, great food, and the cocktails to die for. Salsa bars incredible and everything was great. We watched the Grupo Nice live and free at one of the parks and it was MAGIC. LOVED IT CALI.
Alvaro is an extraordinary host. I am traveling by my own and he emedietly treated me like a friend!
I felt welcome since the first second and he introduced me in Cali nightlife. And tbh Cali is an interesting city during daytime but it night time you can have nights you never forget and Alvaro knows where to go and who to invite to achieve that.

The Hostel is in the 16th floor so the view over Cali is amazing! The hostel is really clean and these bunk beds are one of the most stable one I've slept in.
Spacious room with a balcony, very clean and overall great value for money. Perfect location in Cali very close to everything. Breakfast was impressive with several options available. Unfortunately I was unwell when I was in Cali, but the staff at the hotel were wonderful and called me a doctor when I asked. They constantly checked in on me and asked how I was feeling over the few days I stayed there. I felt very well cared for and looked after. Extremely grateful as a solo traveller for their kindness.
I liked all the facilities of the hotel, the quality is really good, but what I liked most was the service especially the woman called Sara who speaks very good english which is not very common in colombia. She was very helpful and kind. I will definitely come back to Ibis!
little paradise in the safe San Antonio district. Colonial building with two inner courtyards. Rooms are spacious and have real hot showers (unusual in Colombia). Breakfast was very good, staff friendly.
The whole experience was amazing! The staff in the restaurant was fantastic. This hotel will remain as our first choice everytime we travel to Colombia.
