Honestly, La Selvita is exceptional place! little piece of paradise in the middle of the jungle with beautiful view of the sea. Polo, the owner, was taking great care of us, serving delicious breakfast from local fruits and organic products. This is a much better alternative to El Rio. We paid the same price for a double room with an en suite for 2 people as one night in a 23 bed dorm for one person in El Rio. Feels like a hotel/ guesthouse and is super clean and comfy. Can either get a Moto taxi to el Rio in 4 mins or it's about a 25 min walk. We still spend the days and evening in El Rio for free and came back here to sleep. Totally recommend and don't worry, Moto taxis are still available all night. Room had Aircon and a TV
The property is beautiful and the rooms are extremely well kept and put together too. The cleaners come in each day and do a great job but the best thinks about this hotel is the staff! One person in particular is ruby who works in the restaurant team and is exceptional at her job. It helps to speak Spanish here but if you don’t then no worries, they ensure you get what you need and make it work (we do speak Spanish). Ruby though was a stand out and thank you for all you did for us!
