The hotel owners are very helpful and friendly, gave us detailed tips on how to plan our hike to huangshan the next day. The hotel is extremely convenient as well, being located just at the entrance to the bus station to get on the mountain. We booked the family room and it was well fitted with smart home devices which made controlling the curtains/aircon/tv super convenient and seamless. Also had dinner at their restaurant and it was super delish! Highly recommend this to all who’re thinking to visit Huangshan!

W_Smart Motel Superior Hongcun, hotel in Huangshan Scenic Area

Situated in Yi, 35 km from Bright Summit Peak, W_Smart Motel Superior Hongcun features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

I received a very warm welcome here, although we were communicating through a translation app as I don't speak Mandarin and they don't speak English! The owner and her husband were very friendly and hospitable. My room was large and comfortable with a really really good shower. Breakfast was very Chinese but good - and adapted on day 2 as day 1's rice porridge wasn't really to my taste. Location-wise, it's less than 5 minutes' walk to the West Gate bus station and less than 10 to Hongcun village proper. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby.

Hiking in the yellow mountains was an amazing experience and I would recommend it to everyone. The views were breathtaking and something I'll never forget. Bring a lot of layers of clothes as well as a hat and scarf as the weather changes quite a lot when hiking. Also, the hiking is very easy as there's only stairs to be climbed. You need to get up very early if you want to do the big route (i.e. the cayon included) - it pays off to use the cable cars if you want to see as much as possible.

To my knowledge, Huangshan City doesn't have a plethora of famous cultural sites to visit (unless, of course, they are in the mountains). A visit to Huangshan is great for hiking and scenic site seeing, but don't expect to see a show or eat super-incredibly Chinese cuisine during your stay. In our small neighborhood at the base of the mountain, things were relatively quiet, and the food options were almost all identical from one shop to the next. This was fine with my friend and I during our visit, because we were there to see the Yellow Mountains, and did not expect much else of our visit!

Lots of outdoor hiking opportunities! So pretty and green.

Lots of outdoor hiking opportunities! So pretty and green. Yellow mountain was quite busy with tourists and actually going early was busiest. We walked the whole mountain within 3 hours. The hot springs were closed due to no rain which was disappointing.

Huangshan Mountain has a beautiful natural landscape of stone/rock formations, valleys, mountain ridges, pine trees, Xihai Grand Canyon etc. On clear sky days, you may be able to see sunrise and sunset if you stay a night or two at a hotel at the mountain top. After cable car ride, there are only two modes of transport: 1) walking/trekking through concrete steps, paved and gravel roads to sightseeing spots/hotel/cable car. Some terrains are pretty steep especially those at Xihai Grand Canyon. Be prepared to walk 2-5 hours for Xihai Grand Canyon. 2) pay people to carry you on a sedan chair to your destination (charges apply according to your build, distance of your journey etc).

The mountain is very accessible with very frequent busses to the cable car stations. There are path with steps everywhere. The views are spectacular if the weather is good. The trek is worth it for the beautiful views.

The mountains and the views were stunning but avoid going there during national holidays. Too crowded. Spoiled the whole fun. Also the sea of clouds is not there everyday. Check it out before you plan to go

Can not praise the staff enough. Firstly they arranged a driver to pick us up from the train station, they then took is to a local waterfall and got us discounted tickets. The second day they took us to the pick up point for the mountain, where they then picked us up when we finished. On our final day we were driven to 2 separate local beauty spits before being taken back to the station. On top of that they would cook whatever food we asked for, as well a lovely relaxing tea ceremony. All for less than £200. Bargain. Highly recommended.

Location is fantastic, right next to the entrance to the scenic area. The staff were very warm, welcoming and thoughtful, gave us tonnes of tips on how to best enjoy the yellow mountains and even a massage gun after we came down! Amenities were very plentiful - they offer everything you could possibly want from a hotel. The room was very comfortable and modern with voice controlled curtains and a very fancy bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. They also offer free rain ponchos and walking sticks to help with the hike.

Staff were so happy, helpful, and fun to talk to. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. Perfect location for a visit to the mountains. We stayed two nights, spent one full day on the mountain, and took their recommendations to visit the nearby waterfall and yummy bakery before leaving. I especially loved hanging out in the lobby where they played lovely music and staff socialized with us. (Pro tip; try as many teas from the lobby as you can!) Stay here!! You will be so happy you did!! ❤️

The host was extremely helpful. He arranged affordable transport from Huangshan North train station to the hotel (and back), made a plan for hiking the mountain with me, and helped with the many more questions I had. The hotel is only a short walk to the park entrance, so no need to take a cab in the morning. I booked 3 nights, but slept one day in a hotel on the mountain. That way, I could keep my luggage safe and worry-free, whilst climbing the mountain. I highly recommend staying here!

The place is close to the mountains, which we came there for, however it was extremely difficult to find the hotel even for our chineese friend, as the hotel hides behind faceless doors. Perhaps, if we were on our own, we wouldn't have found it, as there are no indications in English. The ladies at reception kidnly tried to serve us with a breakfast that would suit European children's taste, which was difficult to achieve however.

Sunny has been an amazing host! She managed everything for us in Huangshan and helped us a lot during our first days in China as non-Chinese speakers - she even booked trains for us anticipating the cost. The hotel is beautiful and we also got some delicious tea her husband produces. Overall, I strongly recommend staying at Cloudy Warm Hotel for the beautiful location, amazing service and kind welcome

What a great quick stay at this hotel! The hotel was nice, clean and the owners were very lovely to us and could speak english! THey helped us with planning our huangshan stay and gave us free car service to the town and back! They also provided a breakfast (chinese style of course) and they even made a quick dinner for us when we came in later. Highly recommend for a stay!

Close to South gate entrance of the park. Tangko is a better place to stay than Huangshan City to visit the park
