Breakfast was good but didn’t have much hot food. Not a problem for us but other guests do like cooked breakfast.
The room was spacious with a great shower.

Breakfast, staff, location of the hotel, and bed were the best things about the Icon Hotel. I spent three days there, and nothing could be better. It was my girlfriend's birthday, and the staff presented us with a bottle of local sparkling wine and a really good dessert. It was a pleasant surprise!

A solid South American city generally safe although not as picturesque as Buenos Aires in terms of architecture and art. Beautiful to have the backsplash of the Andes wherever you go, some good colonial architecture in places around central Santiago but not much more than that.

The best thing is the amazing view of the Andes mountain range that completely dwarfs the city's buildings, which even include the tallest in South America, with 300m.

Santiago hasn't got much to interest the tourist.
Santiago hasn't got much to interest the tourist. There are some hills with views, the central square, Plaza de Armas and a few museums. However, Bicentennial Park is nice and you can easily spend a whole day at the Metropolitan Park on the edge of the city.

Use Santiago as a spot to travel Chile from.
Use Santiago as a spot to travel Chile from. Atacama was incredible and the mountain terrain is beautiful. The city has a lot of homelessness, and there is an uncertainty when walking in some areas that are deemed "fine" by locals. Bolivia for instance has less economic privilege yet many travellers felt safer there than in the city of Santiago. I would stay there a max 1 day. It is also extremely expensive, comparable to London but this is similar for the rest of Chile not just Santiago.

Santiago is a beautiful city that is well worth visiting.
Santiago is a beautiful city that is well worth visiting. What impressed me the most was the cuisine. I am Brazilian and love gastronomy, and Santiago was the place where I found the most delicious food. I also loved the way Chileans welcome Brazilians. The people are very polite and willing to help. The city is relatively safe, especially if you stay in the Las Condes area. I recommend traveling in the fall when the weather is mild and you have a chance to see snow.

We had such an amazing time at this hotel - wow! We hoped to stay here again when we passed through Santiago but it was fully booked. Which makes sense because it was seriously the best hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful and the restaurant has 24-hour service. So we ordered room service and the Barros Luco was the best sandwich I've ever had in my entire life.
The hotel is very close to the airport and offers a free shuttle for their guests. The breakfast is great and the rooms are big and very comfortable. Especially Coni helped me a lot as my bag was lost and arrived in Santiago with another flight.
Best Hotel in Town. I stayed at some 5 Star hotels in Santiago and this was way ahead of the others. Excellent service, good roomservice, nice restaurant. Well organised staff, clean and comfy room. All in all worth the money
Good hotel in quite area of Santiago. Best thing was the rooftop swimmingpool/bar/restaurant. Sun almost entire day and until 2100hrs. at night. Free coofee and water in lobby area:-) Walking distance to several atractions.
