The view of the lake and the mountains were stunning. The village and lake is gorgeous. (It has a lot of stone steps though, so it does require basic fitness and working knees to see the village, and make sure you get off at the right bus stop as those stairs with luggage is not fun.)
The room and facilities were clean and we had everything we needed. There was no toilet in the room but this was not an issue for us. It was reflected in the price. Breakfast was provided and there was space in the fridge for us to keep our own food.
Check in/check out was easy and the staff were friendly.
There were some lovely restaurants close by and access to swim in the lake, too. I would happily recommend this listing.

Our only mistake was not staying longer in this absolutely stunning place. Nina and Richard are so kind and went above and beyond to help us with our holiday. Can not recommend highly enough!!!!
The Hotel Acquarello is located in the Old Town of Lugano, right at the lower terminus of the funicular connecting the centre to the main railway station.

Great value for money! I frequently travel to Lugano by train for work, and this hotel couldn’t be in a better location. It’s a three-star hotel, so don’t expect a palace, but it is clean, and the staff is very efficient. The location is truly unbeatable. It’s right at the funicular station, so you can hear it a bit, but it’s much quieter than if there were a road nearby. With the funicular, you’re just a five-minute ride to the train station and only two minutes to the city center.
Situated on the lake promenade near the traffic-free centre of Lugano, Hotel Walter Au Lac offers you rooms with superb lake views. WiFi is free of charge. All air-conditioned rooms are renovated.

Staff pleasant. View very good, however all rooms have view if lake so when you select on booking you do not need to pay more for a lake view.breakfast OK but eggs unappealing as been stood for a while.
The family-run Hotel Delfino has a privileged location close to the lake shore and next to the pedestrian area which leads into the heart of the city of Lugano.
Gandria was a beautiful village. It is carless and has lots of stone steps, so it requires basic fitness levels and working knees. The old rustic buildings were gorgeous and there are a few places that provide access to swim in the lake.
Locanda Gandriese was the best restaurant we ate at for the entire trip. It's a really lovely little part if the world.

Typical nice village nestled on the slope of Monte Bré, right on the lake. Nice and quiet, it offers various opportunities to walk along the lake, climb the mountain, tour on boat, and drink and eat.
It is a nice place to stay.

Gandria is a pictoresque, romantic little village with beautiful lake views and a laid-back atmosphere. It is easily reached from Lugano by bus or boat. There is a good choice of restaurants and the Bottega di Gandria is a great place for an outside drink. There is not much in the way of sightseeing in the village itself but it makes a great base for exploring the beautiful surroundings.
We had a reservation for a room at Le Bucce di Gandria but due to a technical error with the booking system there was an overbooking and the staff of this place kindly solved it by arranging another room (with amazing lake view!) for us at Antico Ristorante, right next to the river. So my rating is about the room in Antico: Peaceful room, Beautiful view, Friendly staff.
I immediately felt at home. It was easy to get installed. Luana was very professional and at the same time it felt like I've known her for longer due to her kind open personality and availability. This goes for Anna too. The house and the location are perfect for experiencing the Gandria specialty of calm and silence. Just perfect.
Everything was wonderful… We were in love with the view from the balcony, the staff was very caring and kind! Gandria is such a beautiful location, it feels out of time!
If you don’t mind shared toilets nor shower inside the bedroom (not in a separate room), you will definitely enjoy your stay!
