1. Our grandchild left her stuffed dog toy in the bed and we did not have time to get it. I made the reception and management aware of the problem and was called the next morning after check-out and informed that the toy had been located by examining all bedding to be washed., and that it would be mailed back to us. That is GREAT SERVICE!
2. The restaurant is very conveniently located in the hotel and we were happy with the meals and service.
3. The bus to the rail station is right outside the entrance and free if using the "Graubünden Guest Card"

Hotel Sommerau is located just off the Chur-Süd exit of the A13 motorway and a 5-minute drive from the center of Chur. It offers free WiFi and free private parking.
The old town is quaint and lovely to walk around. Great walks up into the surrounding hills. Shame cable car won’t work every day otherwise would have stayed for an extra day.perfect stop for Bernine express the following day.

Fantastic village to take Bernina Express.
Fantastic village to take Bernina Express. However, if yo wish to take Bernina, then dont rent a car rather buy Swiss rail passes which seem expensive but then all transport is free and you get 50% off on Bernina express, Glacier express, and all private rides like Titlis Air and others. So this is well worth a spend.

Chur is a beautiful place to do short trip in Switzerland . Very safe place to walk even at night time. The alleyways are great piece of architecture and lots of choices for small boutiques and restaurants in Affordable price. You won't get lost in Chur as it is only straight line to the main train station. Frankishner Hotel offered an amazing dish and cheese fondue at reasonable price, very professional staff and great atmosphere inside the restaurant

We only stayed 1 night in Chur and were thus unable to fully explore the town itself and the surrounding area. There is a good range of shops, historic buildings and churches (especially the cathedral) which are worth visiting. It's not a large town but there are several attractive squares to wander around and, like most places in Switzerland, extremely clean and tidy. We ate at a very good restaurant/bar called Calanda - great service/atmosphere/food and drink choices.

The cable car was fantastic, would have stayed another day just to take full advantage of this… However it’s very expensive in Chur… eating out was prohibitive for us due to how much it would have cost, we could stay in a good apartment in Bolzano Italy for one night for the same cost as a meal for two.. even buying food from the supermarket is expensive… btw Bolzano is a fantastic place to visit ..

We loved Chur. Beautiful , historic old town in the centre. It seemed like a town where regular working folk lived rather than being very touristy although there were tourists. Interesting Viamal Gorge and walk accessibly easily by train and bus . As it was raining we didn’t go on the walk just the short walkway by the cafe .
Chur is a very small place in Switzerland and the reason why we wanted to stay here was the next day we wanted to take the Glacier Express Train and for that we wanted to go to St. Mortiz. Having being said that this place is a neat and tidy one covered by snow mountains from all sides and within reach of the Train Station in 7 mins of walk. I would suggest you to select this place as the host is a very kind person and helpful one. Thanks to host for making this a memorable one for us. Please consider this place.
Very central location, good for the train station. Nice breakfast with lovely fresh bread. We knew about the shared toilets when we booked, but I was pleasantly surprised by how clean they always were and how little we had to queue for the shower. This may have been because the hotel was quiet, I certainly did not see many other guests. The room was lovely and warm. We could hear noise from outside on the street but not enough to keep me awake. Considering it was one of the cheapest hotels in Chur it was fine.
Excellent breakfast served in an very old room with views of the old city. Very friendly staff. My room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel lies in the old part of Chur. There is a good and varied selection of bars and restaurants within a five minute walk. This was my fourth visit. I hope to return in 2024

Bed was comfortable and easy walking distance to all shops and restaurants in Chur. Highly recommend this hotel and Chur definitely worth a visit for an afternoon of meandering around the shops if travelling on Bernina Express next day.
Flat is located on the heart of old city. Just 3 minutes walking distance away from train station. We stayed 1 night at Chur since we were going to take the Bernina Express the morning after. Location made everything easy for us. Flat was clean and well designed. Bed was comfortable. Heating was good.
This was a quick stopover for us between the Glacier and Bernina Express trains. Perfect location and good communication by hotel. The hotel is next to the historic district. It’s a delightful town with easy walk from train station, shopping, and restaurants. Chur was a pleasant surprise.
It was an absolutely lovely traditional building with a lot of history. Staff were nice too, and breakfast was very Swiss and a really great experience. If you are looking for the quaint hotel in Chur then this is it. The price point (by Swiss standards) was reasonable as well.
We got an early check-in, and they were very helpful when I made a mistake with the dates.
The rooms were cool, and we got a fan to help us sleep at night in the warm weather.

Cozy, simple hotel in the city center. Drei Könige is a classic in Chur, which I've stayed at a few times. It's affordable, which is unusual in Switzerland and in Chur in particular. The hotel breathes history of the early twentieth century and before.
It was close to a great part of Chur, very cute area. There's lots of facilities at the hotel including a shared kitchen, coworking space and community room. The beds were comfy and I could see mountains from the window. Staff was very friendly.
