The service is swiss - meaning “other countries should learn, how to do that” - it’s the quality. The price for this quality and place is very convenient. Also we got upgrade of the room for free.

This hotel provides the rare experience of traveling back in time, with exquisite original furnishings and lavish interiors from a bygone time. Everyone familiar with Mann’s the magic mountain, will immediately recognize the inspirational material, and soon find him/herself on the «horizontal» position, enjoying the wonderful view, and possibly enjoying a Maria Mancini, walking in the footsteps of Hans Castorp. The Guarda Val had been recommended to us by a frequent traveller as the best hotel ever: it even exceeded these expectations! Who has a firing place in his room? Multiple friendly encounters with other guests, all greeting, smiling and relaxed, which is always an indication of a top hotel.
This was our second stay here as it is a lovely comfortable hotel for a week’s ski holiday. The staff are all very friendly and do everything to make your stay as good as possible. Great breakfast and a regular shuttle to the Flims cable car. The outdoor hot tub was a real highlight.
Everything at the Waldhaus was absolute perfection. We stayed here for four nights for our honeymoon and were so overwhelmed with the beauty of the property and the surrounding landscape, the friendliness and care of the staff, and the old world charm of this historic hotel. From the moment we arrived at the Waldhaus, we were greeted warmly by the staff and owners of the property. Our room was so well appointed and had the most amazing view of Lake Sils. The turn down service every evening made returning to our room after dinner like returning home. The food is delicious (you have to do the half board option!!) and the nightly menus kept things interesting and fresh. The spa was beyond anything we had ever enjoyed before, with a steam room, sauna, soaking pools, and relaxation rooms. We went on a hike through the Fex Valley and were in awe of everything we saw. It was like being transported back in time with all the modern conveniences and amenities included. Though I'm happy to be home, I will always miss the Waldhaus.
The room was clean, very comfortable, with an amazing view of the lake. There were nice touches, like a pair of binoculars. The hotel’s restaurant was superb.
