A lovely small town to wander around at the weekend.

A lovely small town to wander around at the weekend. The local beer is delicious, as is the home made ice cream. The Nook and Cranny restaurant served a great home made burger, washed down with a glass of the local ‘Hippy Dippy’ light ale from the Tatamagouche Brewery. Our stay at the Train Station Inn was very enjoyable and we would recommend staying there if you like something different. The rooms are renovated cabooses and there is a cafe/gift shop in the station building, along with a dining car that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Excellent food! There is a Saturday farmers market that also has live music. Jost vineyard is just up the road and is a lovely spot for wine tasting and lunch - the wood fired pizza is delicious! We walked up the railway trail and back, which runs along the French River and is very scenic. There is also a play park and small beach along the trail where you can stop and enjoy the view, while the kids play on the park and beach. Sugar Moon Farm isn’t too far down the road, either. All in all it’s a lovely town with enough to see and do for a couple or three days.

Tatamagouche is a lovely small town with lots to see and do. The people are very friendly and the food is awesome at all the restaurants. There are lots of shops offering a variety of good sand services. There are several types of acommodations available. Also a great trail to walk or cycle.

People are very friendly. Food was good . We enjoyed the Creamery Market, Nook and Cranny as well as Big Al's and the homemade ice cream shop. The hospitality at the Train Station Inn was wonderful. We also enjoyed the music on Friday night on the platform as well as their takeout food. The only not so great moment we experienced was when we tried to go to the Chowder house for lunch on Saturday. There was no lineup and we were turned away and told that they had no idea when there would be a vacancy. We decided to go elsewhere.

    Beautiful area. Great food.

Beautiful area. Great food. Ate at Big Al's, (get the Asian nachos and the mussels🥰). Visited Heather beach, Rushton beach where the water is very warm, and visited Blue Sea beach to watch the amazing sunsets. Lots to do just a short drive in every direction, like Sara Bonnyman pottery, Seafoam Lavender Farm, Lismore sheep farm with a great gift shop and the Tatamagouche train cars. And don't forget Jost Winery for wine tasting and beautiful outside cafe.

The Chowder House restaurant was fantastic.

The Chowder House restaurant was fantastic. It has been a long time in finding a restaurant that knows how to cook vegetables. They were perfect in consistency. The toasted western was the thickest and best tasting sandwich I've had in the past half century. The staff were great.

Breakfast was amazing both mornings we were at Dolan’s. Shelby accommodated our dietary needs with delicious, substantial breakfasts with lots of fresh fruit. She brewed fresh coffee for us each morning. Our room was comfortable, cozy and spotlessly clean with a terrific selection of snacks and toiletries to make our stay absolutely perfect. Shelby and John are friendly, welcoming hosts - their hospitality will bring us back to Dolan’s on our next visit to Tatamagouche.

Our hosts were very friendly, helpful and generous. Our corner room on the second floor had access to a balcony where we were able to see the dark starry night sky away in the countryside, but just outside of Tatamagouche, with no light pollution. Our hosts generously offered their time and resources to make sure we were comfortable and well-cared for.

This is a very comfortable house overlooking Tatamagouche Bay. Really enjoyed the use of the long veranda and appreciated the availability of food for purchase. Hostess is friendly and informative; we even changed our itinerary to see a few locals in the area we were told about. Very large rooms and great breakfast in the morning.

It's a very cool themed hotel with an interesting gift shop. If you want to eat at the dining car as well, you should reserve in advance, but it's worth it. The cars were great and so were the staff.
