super friendly owner, the cottage was large, super clean and very cozy. They have animals on their farm plus a small pond where you can use a canoe. We ordered dinner beforehand and enjoyed a delicious meal in our cottage.

The gateway to Wells Grey Park, Clearwater is a great base camp to explore the numerous waterfalls, river rafting adventures, fishing spots and hiking/biking in the surrounding area. The people have always been friendly and welcoming with my countless visits and the scenery spectacular. Helmcken Falls is a major highlight in Wells Grey Park. Check in at the visitor center to really get a grasp of everything this place has to offer! The main town has good amenities for food, groceries, gas and more. Definitely worth a visit.

Waterfalls in nearby Regional Park ( I think there were 4 of them to see. All were beautiful on their own. Only one needed like 1-hour + hike, rest were closer to the road. Can be seen in half a day easily, before you need to continue driving East or West.

Wells Gray Provincial Park.
Wells Gray Provincial Park. Beautiful scenery full of gorgeous waterfalls, lakes, rivers and creeks. We had breakfast in the Blue Grouse Inn where we stayed and we dined out in Clearwater for our other meals. This Inn is close to most of the key waterfalls. Clearwater is very easy to get around by car. There are numerous activities like rafting, canoeing, etc that you can do. Information centre is very helpful. We even went to my first ever rodeo in nearby Barriere.

Clearwater has everything you need along the #5: groceries,...
Clearwater has everything you need along the #5: groceries, gas , a few restaurants but is not the reason to go here. Go for the hiking, canoeing, kayaking, rafting and camping in Wells Gray Park and Myrtle Lake but be prepared for hot weather along with mosquitoes and black flies in the summer. Dutch Lake is beautiful warm swimming lake just off the #5 with a lovely sand and grassy public beach with wharf and swings for young children.
The rooms were recently remodeled and very clean. There were personal touches in the room: juice and bottled water in the fridge, a quality Nepresso coffee maker and a welcome note. We did not hear traffic as it was a bit off the highway. This also made it feel more secure. Hotels are hit and miss in smaller rural areas, and I do not expect the same quality as in a major urban area. This hotel exceeded our expectations for not being in a metro area.
Easy to find, quiet, parking right at the door. Table and chairs out front of each room is nice too. It’s obviously an older motel, so manage your expectations on that front and you won’t have any issues. It’s super clean and tidy and pretty much anything you would need is in the room. LOVED the simple check in. Pet friendly and lots of places to walk your dog. Just travelling through but I would stay here again for sure.
Doris was a charming host. Much more fun and interesting than a hotel stay. Very nice breakfast, and on cue, a hummingbird came for at least a 5 minute visit during breakfast! Immaculate home. Host recommended we stop in at Wells Gray park, and we were so happy we did, viewing a beautiful waterfall less than 20 minutes from her house. We had only just driven past the town on our many stopovers there before.
The Rusty Antler is a wonderful little cabin, located near the entrance to the Wells Grey Park. We really felt comfortable. The host Susan is friendly, welcoming, communicative - she gave us many information. The guests can use her BBQ. Without any restriction we can recommend this accommodation.
The property is well located near the highway. Our room was at the back and quieter as a result. It has a good, well patronized restaurant, and a well patronized bar. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom clean and updated. Fridge with a freezing compartment
The location was right off the highway and we could park our moving truck right on the property.
The pool was a nice surprise.
My sister was traveling with her cat and they were able to provide a pet friendly room at a very reasonable rate.
Very friendly reception and clean comfortable room. Everything I expected was available in the room. Parking available, WiFi worked fine. A place I would recommend for a stay in or around Clearwater.
Location, great little town, right near supermarket and restaurants. Very friendly staff and cute dogs.highly recommend hop and hog for dinner and wild flour bakery. Close to stunning waterfalls
Food great, and staff was great, and room was comfortable and bed also comfortable and thank you for air conditioning as well, we love Clearwater and have family there and we will be back
Nice quiet location, peaceful forested well-kept grounds. Very attentive and friendly staff. Clean, comfortable, and well-stocked cabin. Wonderful accommodations in a lovely setting.
Location of the property is good. Sceneries are great. Very peaceful and accomodation was comfortable enough. Pet Friendly. Staff super friendly and accommodating.
This is a good place to break a long trip between Edmonton and Vancouver. The hotel is close to the highway and well appointed. It was a comfortable room.
