As its name states the town is located around a lagoon, a 15 minute ride from the international airport. The walk around the lagoon is nice and safe. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from.
Lagoa Santa is also an important archeological location and the place of interesting fossil findings including those of a pre-historical human race that would have migrated to South America well before the current American natives. It is worth taking the time to visit the Lapinha cave and museum.

Great breakfast, clean room, good staff, we loved the sitting area and water fall. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The shuttle service and early breakfast was especially helpful!
