- This place is paradise for real. It is peaceful, next to amazing beaches that were almost only for us and very close to the blue lagoon. We had the BEST time swimming and snorkelling.
- Room was great, comfortable and with amazing view to the sea. Can’t imagine a better way of waking up
- Restaurant, breakfast was very good - loved the bolo de brigadeiro. We also ate lunch and dinner there that was delicious. Caipis were also great.
- Staff, very kind and helpful
- Activities, they have kayaks, snorkelling masks, private beach and offer tours to visit different beaches. Also pool, jacuzzi, sauna and the best sunset.
The stay was amazing overall! We didn’t want to leave!!!

Great spot for our family of 5. The hotel had a great breakfast. Brought In a playpen for us for our 2 yo but we didn’t even need it as the bed was very large and could fit our son in with us. our other two kids stayed in a bunk bed which they loved.
Location is a tiny bit far with the kids, but out kids actually did great walking to and from. Our only tiny complaint would be the pool was green, even though they cleaned and treated it every day. There was too much chlorine which was more irritating for me than the kids. They didn’t mind at all. Overall great!
We would definitely come back!

The entire island is wonderful and staying at Abraão was perfect for us. There were shops and supermarkets and many things to do such as canoeing and hiking. It is not the cheapest place in Brazil but really worth the visit! We had some good Italian food and enjoyed some caipirinha deals. We felt super safe also at night and enjoyed that we were able to walk everywhere!

Ilha Grande is paradise on earth, staying in Abrao is the smartest decision since is the "center" of the island. From there you can go everywhere you'd like. Either by hiking / walking or boat, you'll see the most amazing beaches, some of them even look caribbean.

Abraão itself is a place full of inns, BnBs and restaurants, but regarding attractions, Abraão is just the starting point of most "Ilha Grande" adventures.
Getting to Abraão is pretty easy, but you always have to pay attention to either the public ferry schedule or the "Flexboat" schedule. The public ferry (Barca) comes from Angra or Mangaratiba only once a day and it's the cheapest passage you can get, but it's a 90 minutes trip. The Flexboat schedule is made of different private companies and they cost about 3 times more than the public ferry, but the commute is way faster taking about 30 minutes.
I really liked staying at "Pousada Agua Viva" and their help with the commute was awesome.
The best meal I had at Abraao was at "Lua e Mar" and I ate the "Lua e Mar Grill"

I would highly recommend to spend 3-4 days at ilha grande and specifically Abraão. Take a boat trip to different islands on two of those days and spend the rest of the days just hanging out on the island itself. There is not too much to do on itself but eating at nice restaurants, speaking to the friendly locals and hanging out at the beach will make sure you will be fully rested at the end of your stay over here.
Pousada Horizonte dos Borbas is located within easy walking distance of Abraao's port where passengers disembark from the ferries coming from the mainland. There are numerous restaurants, bars and supermarkets near the hotel and the trailhead to hike to Lopes Mendes Beach is just a kilometer away. The rooms are clean and comfortable with decent Wi-Fi. The hotel offers a typical Brazilian breakfast served by the very friendly morning staff. I enjoyed my stay and will stay at the hotel again if I ever return to Ilha Grande.
Gorgeous, green, and welcoming! It’s a micro-village of love in the middle of paradise. I felt genuine kindness and warmth from everyone working here. There are palm trees and hammocks everywhere. Breakfast was delicious, served in the beautiful common space that’s covered but still open. And they have a water filter, so even the tap water is drinkable. Albatroz is the only place I’ve seen this so far in Brazil.
The receptionists were amazing. Service was great, and there was always someone there to help us when we needed either water, beer or advice. The location is great, a bit far to walk from the ferry with a suitcase, but nice to be a bit away from the "centre" of Abraão. The pool area was nice, even though there were a lot of insects in the pool, but I guess that's hard to avoid when being located on an island.
It’s a lovely place! The accommodation has everything you need, it includes transportation from/to Abraao-Saco do Ceu. You will have the opportunity to walk over different beaches, the place is nearby good restaurants (including the one at Club MV, the food was delicious!) They also include a daily breakfast with different options :) The staff and owner make you feel at home.
The hotel staff was charming and friendly. Glad to give us all the information we needed about the island. The breakfast was pampering, the hotel staff happily served us everything we asked for. In addition, the massage offered by the hotel is highly recommended. One of the best massages we've ever had. At a great price of only 250 rials for couple. highly recommend!
This is the best place I have ever stayed in. It is not just a hotel, it is an experience.
The location between the beach and the rainforest, the sea, the quality of the room and the food. And, the most important : the kindness of the staff.
I had problems with the transfer reservation from Rio to Abraao, and they did everything they could to help me solve the problem.
We really enjoyed our stay at Pousada Albatroz! The hotel is a bit of a climb from the center of Abraão, but because of that you are in a very quite environment where you’ll only here birds and crickets. The breakfast is absolutely amazing and I found the property to be even more beautiful than on the pictures.
Excellent location right in the heart of Abraao, right by the port. The staff who run the hostel are brilliant - super friendly and helpful and always willing to share their tips for things to do on the island. It had a nice, chilled social vibe when I stayed and was clean and well-equipped. muito obrigado!
Tucked away in the trees it feels like you are part of nature. We expected a small room and got there to a beautiful house overlooking the forest and sea. The best nights sleep I have had in a long time listening to the sounds of nature and then waking up to it too. Super chilled vibe and very nice staff.
Esmeralda makes the most wonderful breakfast with homemade jams, cakes, fresh cut fruit and made to order eggs. Carlos helped us book the perfect boat tours each day and knows all the best spots! Location is the best right on the water but far enough from town for quiet !
Beautiful space by the amazing artist Sylvio we really enjoyed our stay at his studio house. The rooms are clean and spacious and the location is excellent, right in the center of Abraao. I really recommend staying there if you are visiting Ilha Grande.
The hosts are amazing, going fishing with them and having a dinner was an highlight of my trip. Make sure to use this https://www.seatemperatu.re/south-america/brazil/ilha-grande/tides.html to plan your walk to town, getting wet is part of the fun
The location a few minutes walk from the main pier in Abraao facing the ocean. Beautiful views from the the terrace. Comfortable king size bed and spacious room. A bit pricey compared to other properties at Ilha Grande but it was worth it.
The location is perfect. Close to all the island shops and a few meters from the main docks (most important point in Abraao). Breakfast is good and it start earlier than most of the island options, thats really usefull in the island.
Excellent place to stay, the hotel beach is one of the best on the island. The attention of the staff is the best. Delicious food and desserts. The hosts were always attentive to any need we had.
Everything about Asalem was wonderful - the location, the view, the room. The staff were helpful in every way. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. Thank you.
Amazing hostel - perfect location, just away from the main part of Abraão but only 2 minutes walking. Staff incredibly friendly and the vibe of the hostel is perfect.
