There is so much to see, and not enough hours in a day.
There is so much to see, and not enough hours in a day.
Wien is a wonderful city and I am amazed that I waited so long to visit it for the first time. I shall be coming back.
It is very expensive, be warned about that! Museum entrances are not cheap but it is important that all this magnificent heritage be maintained so I am not complaining.
But eating out is definitely on the expensive side, 35-30 euro for a good lunch or dinner and you could spend much more. All I can suggest is have breakfast at your hotel if it is a good price for a breakfast buffet, have lunch or dinner but not both, and buy snacks from the supermarkets and Turkish grocery shops. Sausages are great but you cannot eat too many in a week.
Take some time to get to know the Wiener Linie, the public transport system. It is not easy to follow but once you are familiar with it, it is a very good friend to the traveller. Take care, there are pickpockets in U Bahn of all major European cities ; I have no sunglasses to prove it!
Note also that weekly tickets do not start on the day you buy them, they start some days later, so be sure of what you are buying and if in doubt go to a Service Centre of Wiener Linie such as at Karlsplatz station where service is very polite.
J Stroeck bakery in many U Bahn stations is really good for healthy snacks.
The Wiener Staatsoper is magnificent, and if you are lucky you can buy a ticket from the authorised ticket sellers at a reduced price in the afternoon before 4pm , do be flexible about which opera production you attend. It is such a privilege to be there.
Overall, I give Wien and its people nine out of ten for making me very happy and ready to come back.

Vienna is a very beautiful and vibrant city with rich cultural and historical heritage. I enjoyed the walking stroll in parks and public transportation was affordable and efficient. For first time tourists like us, some recommended attractions would be Schönbrunn where we learnt about the Habsburg family long history, Hofburg with its Imperial Treasury, the magnificent St Stephen Cathedral, and Upper Belvedere where we saw famous pictures from Gustav Klimt (we loved The Kiss). I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the city and friendly people. Don’t forget to try the local food and beer, especially at Stephansplatz.

It is an Imperial, historical, amazing city with rich history and its own atmosphere. You will never dig enough deep to get to reach the bottom of that treasure chest.
Everyone will find something interesting in this city.
At the same time it looked like a bit expensive for our humble budget, so be prepared to spend more than you planned initially

Vienna has a lot to see and music for those who enjoy it.
Vienna has a lot to see and music for those who enjoy it. Interesting museums. Amazing castles which give you a look into history. Beautiful parks to take a breather. It's big and spread out but public transport works well and getting a 48/72 hour ticket is well worth it. Dining out was expensive but worth it each time. Was a lovely experience
Rioca is truly in a league of its own, by far the best accomodation we have booked. The distance to the city centre is compensated by great metro, tram and airport train connections. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed free coffee from Rioca. The room was cleaned, with a modern style and impressive facilities including TV, AC, bluetooth sound system, bed with RGB ambiental lighting, fridge, freezer, electric stove, microwave, dishwasher and hair dryer.
We loved Rioca and will definetly book again next time in Vienna.
This new hotel in Vienna will make me come back to Vienna every year. New hotel which elevate the level of the tourism with new higher standards from other hotels in Vienna .
location is spotless in the middle of the city center
the breakfast is fantastic
we came with our kids and we found toys and kids amenity and even potty chair for my kids, my kids enjoy playing the toys until they sleep every night
the customer service is higher than any other hotel in Vienna , they are smiling and helping all the time
The hotel is in a great location - very close to an underground station so it's perfect for exploring Vienna. You can also walk to the city centre from the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by all kinds of shops and restaurants.
Our room was nice and clean - although be aware that the shower is inside the room, with only a curtain to separate the bed from the shower.
Breakfast is lovely - good coffe and excellent bread & croissants. There is free coffee available from the common room all day.
Location is absolutely amazing. There are 3(!) Metro lines nearby (U1, U2, U3) and its very close to everything. We saved a lot of time and energy just because its location.
The price was also incredibly low for such a good location in Vienna city center. Rooms were very big ( could use some more facilities and comfort, but still very good for this price in Vienna).
Staff was very helpfull.
We were really happy to find this hotel and saved for the next trips in Vienna.
This is a great hotel in a good location in Vienna. You can walk into the centre (about 25 mins to Karlsplatz) but it is very easy to get the u banh wherever you need to go. The u banh is a few minutes walk away and takes you to both the city centre and Schonbrunn palace. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are friendly, they even gave us a voucher for a free drink at the hotel to celebrate my birthday. The rooms was nice and spacious.
Spacious room, comfy beds, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location! What’s not to like?! I highly recommend Radisson red hotel for anyone looking to stay in Vienna for a few nights. Also, very clean hotel with lots of amenities, including a rooftop bar with beautiful views of the city and river. It is a short walking distance to the main city centre (about 6-7 mins) Very happy with my stay here, I will be coming back for sure!
The hotel offers a pleasant atmosphere. The room was small, clean and provided exactly what the description provided. The staff was friendly and helpful.
You can buy the Vienna City Card right at the reception, which gives you some discount on specific locations and use the public transport as much as you like.
The tram station is in front of the hotel, and you can be in the city centre within 20 minutes.
Very appreciative to the hotel for allowing me to check in early after, especially after a restless flight to Vienna. And while set a little further outside the city center circle, access to public transportation was very easy with a train stop just across the street (as well as tram stops nearby). All-in-all, I would definitely look to stay here again when traveling to Vienna.
Great hotel. The room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was great - everything was fresh and well made with a lot of vegetarian options. The hotel is close to the central train station, so it is really easy and fast to reach the airport. Public transportation in Vienna is amazing, and it took us 10 minutes to get to the city centre. I would highly recommend this hotel
The Harmonie Vienna was superb! Breakfast had a lot of options for everyone, location was convenient just right outside the city centre (Innere Stadt) and the room was spacious with extremely good beds. The hotel even offered free tea and cakes in the afternoons which was a nice surprise. Special mention to Stefan - thank you for the very good customer service!
As we were travelling by train the location of the hotel, across the road from the mainline station, suited us. Although it is approximately 3km south of the city centre the transport links in Vienna are so good that it is very easy to get around the city.
There is a decent bar and reception area, and they provide a good breakfast.
Great location for transport links and proximity to the city centre. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean
The breakfast was excellent and varied also complimentary proseco. Front desk staff with a special mention for Anna were so helpful. Will definitely return to the hotel josefshof and Vienna again.
It's a nice choice for us staying Vienna for just one night, the hotel is located in a lovely neighbour, surrounded by plenty of cute restaurants and cafes, easy to access public transportation to city centre. Breakfast was amazing, I was very impressed by the breakfast, rich choices and tasty!
Is a well located hotel near train, tram and bus stations. City center is also reachable easily by walk ( there is some nice spots to see along the way). The staff was really friendly and helpfull. Room was clean and enough for a solo traveler. Really recomended for a visit to Vienna.
Our room was clean and warm. Our bed was comfortable. Our next choice in Vienna might be Babula. The hotel is very close to the city center and transportation alternatives.
Even though we couldn't go to the park nearby, just knowing it was there was enough.
Leonardo Hotel in Vienna is big professional hotel, almost business trip feel-alike. The time of check out is very convenient (11-12). Also the location of the hotel is great, it s not only close to train/bus station but close to belvedere and city centre.
Very good hotel near the old city center, everything is within a walking distance with metro/tram/bus just 5 minutes away if need to go to other areas of Vienna.
Very comfortable and relatively big room with very good beds. Very clean and very welcoming.
Nice hotel, very clean, excelent breakfast, nice personal. The rooms are small, but imaculate clean, nice personal. There is a parking. Not the best location if you want to visit Vienna, but still not too far from the city centre-about 6 km.
The best hotel in Vienna for its price.
