Great place. Amazing views of the lake. A whole lot of things to do. Great value for money. Staff are great. The chalet was excellent with all you need to have in an apartment.

We stayed in Obertraun as a base to explore Halstatt but...
We stayed in Obertraun as a base to explore Halstatt but found as our trip got closer that there was a lot more to do in Obertraun and Halstatt than originally thought so our one night stay turned out to not be long enough. If I were booking again I would definitely stay two or three nights so we could explore the salt mines, walks and view points.

We stayed in Obertraum so we could take the ferry to go to Hallstatt by ferry. The ferry ride was amazing, heavenly peace and tranquil. However, we did not know enough about the area. We found out from the ferry driver that there was an ice cave nearby and a skywalk. We could include that in our future trip.

Obertraun is probably the best place for easy access to Hallstatt (besides being in Hallstatt itself). Bike rentals are easy and the bike ride to Hallstatt is also easy with very little elevation change. Lots of biking in the area.

Perfect location, fantastic view to Hallstatt and the mountains. Easy to reach Hallstatt even with bicycle, Dachstein and mountains are also very close. Lot's of things to see - easily can spend 2-3 days in the surroundings. Railway station and bus station is available - well connected.

Small village, quieter than the nearby Hallstatt.
Small village, quieter than the nearby Hallstatt. Can walk around everywhere on foot. Good for few days with public transport, longer than that you may want a car since there is only one restaurant ("Pizzeria") and buses come only once per hour.
We had a very nice holidays in Dormio Resort Obertraun. Location is perfect. If you miss some kitchen gadgets you can just ask at the reception and they will provide you for free - e.g. there was no knife and chopping board in our kitchen but they gave us this after we have asked for it. For coffee lovers - if you want to make coffee in your appartment, there is a coffee machine for nespresso capsules, so it is good to bring some with you as there are no capsules provided from the accommodation.
We really loved this place. We booked for the lake view with balcony and the view was very astonishing. We can also see Hallstat on the otherside of the lake. The lake with the mountain view is breathtaking, I wish I can stay longer. This place is highly recommended. It feels like was have our own vacation house in Austria because it was very relaxing, calm and quiet. Also, the bonus part is we were able to swim in the lake and kayaking.
Mointain/lake facing hotel. We just stayed for a night, so opted for small room. It was worth the price. Breakfast was good. View of hotel is just amazing. Just outside the hotel, there is spot for boat pickup. Tickets can be purchased from the hotel. Also for parking, you can buy the ticket which costs 10 euros per day from reception and park the car just outside the hotel. Really recommend the hotel.

The house itself is perfect, the room was extremely cosy, clean and had everything we needed.
The hotel Is located in a quiet area near the skiing slope which was a plus. It's also very close to Hallstat.
A car is a must as everything is a driving distance away.

Absolutely a perfect location to stay in Obertraun. Moreover, this is also a great choice if you plan visiting Hallstatt. Very close to the lake, it has all the facilities you need. In the same object, you have also swimming pool, restaurant, garden, garage for bicycles, playground for children... literally everything you can imagine. Highly recommended!!
Apartment was very clean with all the necessary kitchen utensils. Bed is comfortable. Amazing balcony view. Walkable distance to the train station (obertraun dachsteinholen bahnof) and ferry station (to hallstatt) & 2 mins walk to obertraun feriendorf, is bus 543 to ice caves & five fingers. Highly recommended to all👍
Spacious accommodation with a decent living space, bathroom, and kitchenette. Reasonable amount of tea and pods for coffee machine were provided. Location in Obertraun nice and quiet with access to nice walking trails. Hallstatt accessible by ferry. Supermarket and bakery nearby.
Everything was in place during our stay. We were surprised positively by the services provided by hosts. The best part of our stay was the way the hosts served us the breakfast. If we ever visit Hallstatt or Obertraun again then this will definitely be our place to stay again.
Room was very clean and spacious. comfortable bed. Great spacious shower. There was also a clothing room !. Nice view of the mountains from the window. Very good breakfast, large variety (served in the Obertraun Resort, ~10min walk)
Location is beautiful and easy reachable if you come by train. Keep in mind: if you come to Obertraun on friday evening, you should bring food with yourself. The only one grocery store in Obertraun is closed during the weekend.
It’s a very well-equipped, comfortable apartment. It has an ideal location in Obertraun - very close to Dachstein and just a 10 min drive to Hallstatt. The owner is really nice and shared all important information in advance.
1. The staff was good and helpful.
2. The location was good in the sense that there was a bus stop right outside the hotel from where you get the bus to the Obertraun railway station.
3. The breakfast quality was very good.
