One of the best places we´ve ever been, very good value for money (so hopefully the owners will not start to raise the prices in an unreasonable way :-)) Everything just perfect, the place looks even better in reality than on photos (recommendation for owners: Take some new photos, for example the balcony looked pretty tiny on photo but it´s huuuuge in reality!)

It's the 5th or 6th stay in Bad Mittendorf in the skyying season. Hope that global warming will not ruin the crosscountry skiing because Bad Mittendorf area is ideal for that with its many loipe which are well managed. However, this winter we were unlucky with snow but local people put lots of effort the maintain at least one loipe available down. There is an option always to go to the top of the mountains the loipe there is always excellently working. The town is nice, supermarkets are avalilable. If you want you can go to the swimming facility with hot spa and lots of possibilities. Good place with children, too. I warmly recommend the place. We love it.

Very cool town half an hour drive from Hallstatt.
Very cool town half an hour drive from Hallstatt. The center is tiny but very beautiful. In the central park there is a gazebo with pine essential oils. Near the town there is a ski resort Tauplitz, where you can drive a car along a serpentine. The town often smells of cow dung, I don't know why. In principle, this did not scare me, I am a city dweller, and such smells are unusual for me.

Bad Mitterndorf is a lovely little town in the Salzkammergut. It's connected to the train line (albeit the train only comes every 2 hours) but it takes you to all the surrounding areas like Hallstatt, Bad Aussee, etc.. There are lovely places to go hiking directly in Bad Mitterndorf (go to Singerhauserhütte for a cozy and delicious lunch). It's the perfect place to get away from it all, enjoy nature, and to feed your soul! Dinner at Nanu is a must!

Summer: If you're willing to drive 1-1.5 hours to reach hiking destinations, then Bad Mitterndorf is a good base from which to do so (there is relatively little that is nearer than ~40 minutes, but the Schladming are, Totes Gebirge, Dachstein, Gesäuse and parts of the Salzkammergut are accessible). Shopping for food is not a problem (Spar and Billa are present in Bad Mitterndorf; a Hofer is ~10-15 minutes away by car). Pharmacy present. Not much of a "downtown" but what there is is pleasant enough. You can also go for small walks in the woods around the village.

We went to Hallstatt, 5 fingers, stairway to nothingness, dachstein gletscher, eisriesenwelt. We found our way around using waze !

Bad Mitterndorf is a lovely place with adjacent Grimming Therme (pools with thermal water). We liked the Diechtl butcher in the town, here you can buy high-quality meat and deli. A lovely place to visit is the wattefall northern to the town in the woods. You can also drive to Tauplitz and take a cable car (or drive by your own car on an alpine route - tax paid here). From here you can hike or climb to the Lavinenstein. Very nice mountain views on the Grimming mountain from here!
In the surroundings, you can visit karst caves and water springs, lovely woods, numerous mountain lakes where you can bath in the summer. Worth visiting are also local salt mines. I also recommend a trip to Salzburg to visit a Hangar 7 where you can see rare plains and formula 1 race cars.

The entire apartment is furnished with care and love. There are a lot of utensils in the kitchen. All rooms are of perfect cleanliness, nice balcony with a great view to the Grimming mountain and direct access to the garden with benches and a table. We appreciated the selection of board games in the evening. Very calm and quiet area, we slept very well. Couldn’t point out any improvement! It was the best apartment we have ever rented in our years of spending holidays in the Alps, both in Italy and Austria.
The Ferienwohnung is wonderful. The host is super kind and the appartment is prepared with care. You won’t miss anything. The place is super equiped. The bedrooms are big enough with space and the bathroom is huge. Everything is neat like in the pictures. It is in a healthy ambiance with lot of things to do around in the stunning Austrian nature. You will also find a lovely little playground for the little ones in the yard. There is a small bakery just within a 200 m walk. It is a perfect place to stay!
Great location for explored Salzkammergut. Beautiful holiday home with everything you need. Covered parking. Supermarket 5 min. drive. In the living room we found detailed information about attractions and hiking. The home very clean, very spacious: two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, large balcony, two showers, two toilets and a bathroom. Well equipped kitchen. We arrived late and it was very convenient to find the keys in the keybox. We really enjoyed. Thanks a lot.
It was really exceptional staying. Location, room (one-bedroom apartment),, cleanliness - everything is perfect. Landlord Cornelia was very hospitable and kind, ready to help with everything. The room was equipped to the last detail, everything is clean, working and functional.And speaking of price - it's hard to find better value for money. If you are looking for a high quality yet budget accommodation to travel around the Salzkammergut, look no further
Quiet location by the river (you also park by the river), a couple of minutes of a walk to the ski bus or a few minutes drive to the Tauplitzalm Alpenstraße for you can again take a bus to the Mitterstein gondola (you also go there by car, it is cca 10 minutes drive on a pretty good road).
It was a pleasant stay and in the end, I think it was good value for money.
The kitchen was well-equipped. The view from balcony was amazing. The place was perfectly clean. Self check-in was without any problems. Communication was perfect. The location is great if you want to do some skiing - Tauplitz ski resort is just around the corner. :)
Fantastic and very helpful staff, allowed me to store my luggage after the check-out on a Sunday even though the reception isn't normally staffed on Sundays. Perfect location: close to the centre, skibus stop right in front of the hotel.
Clean and nice room for a reasonable price. Very friendly staff. The location was very good within walking distance to the village center, and if enough snow you can ski down to the property from Tauplitz. Breakfast was exceptional.
We loved our short stay here. Especially our son, there are a lot of hedgehog toys in and around the house. Very good breakfast, good location, parking and very good price! We will definitely return on our next trip to Austria.
