Fantastic location, friendly staff, good facilities.
The residence was exceptional. The host was gracious and came by to ensure we would take advantage of what the residence could offer in comfort. The outdoor sauna was fantastic after a full day of excursions.

Perfect remote, private location.
Perfect remote, private location. A lot of attractions, towns, cities worth visiting are reachable by car from that location (e.g. Hallstatt, Obertraun, Salzburg). It‘s small but has everything you need for a few days vacation, grocery store and a few restaurants.

Beautiful location with lots to do, especially if you enjoy outdoor/adventure holidays: walking, hiking, biking and climbing etc. The views from the valley are beautiful though so also makes for a beautiful spot to relax with a good book. We will definitely be coming back!

We enjoyed the walking trail near our house. We also enjoyed trying to walk around the lake. It was pretty warm that day and I didn't get half way before my family said I probably needed to go back (age 81). Two of them made it all the way around but one daughter stayed with me. It was good advice to go back as I was pretty pooped by then. Two of them went up the gondola and two of us stayed behind. One of my daughters walked other various trails there and also went to the castle ruins. I loved looking at the beautiful mountains and everyone was mowing and making hay while we were there. Was interesting to see how different it was from the way we do it in America. Gosau and Hallstatt are two of my favorite places.

Gosau is a lovely place to stay.
Gosau is a lovely place to stay. The village is quite spread out, but this adds to the rural feel of village, which is very appealing. The residents are very friendly and helpful. The skiing is excellent. Gosau is well situated for short day trips to beautiful towns of Hallstatt and Bad Ishl. I could very easily live there full time. A charming place with incredible views from valley and whilst out skiing. Very good lift system out on mountains.

We loved Gosau.
We loved Gosau. Initially we wanted to stay in Hallstatt, but there were no available rooms for good price in any hotel there. So I checked the map for locations around and found Gosau. In the end it's so much better we've chosen Gosau as this place is so much more relaxed with not that many tourist. We'll definitely go back to this place if we are around. Highly recommended.
Great location, 15 minutes Hallstatt, 10 minutes Gosausee with Dachstein, 1 hour Saltzburg and more. Gorgeous house in the hill overlooking Gosau village, valley, horses and mountains.
Building has two large apartments with great balcony and view. Our apartment was fully equip except the washer machine, but for family it has everything. Two bedrooms, perfectly clean and working.
350 m is a food shop, large kids playground like 500 m. Private parking for three cars is in front of the house. Exceptional place for sure.
Nice place to be. The apartment was clean and there is enough space for bigger group (4-6 persons). Really nice balcony and views of the mountains and the village . Location was close to lakes, hiking trails and Hallstatt so it's easy to do day trips for diffenrent kinds of attractions. Gosau village is super sweet place. There are a few restaurants and markets so basically all what you would like to ask

Location - in the middle between Gosau and Gosau Mittertal, next to main road, skibus stop in front of the hotel.
Peter’s apartment was neat and clean. We had ample space, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The views are stunning. Peter is also a great host. It was a pleasure to interact with him and his family. The location, Gosau is also nice and secluded. Perfect if you have a car. Would 100% recommend checking out tbe Gosau lake for a good evening stroll.

The view from the terrace is breathtaking, Lake Gosau is just up the road, there is a restaurant about 5 minutes from the house and Hallstatt is not far either.
The house is beautiful and light and has everything one needs for a comfortable stay.

The exterior of the hotel does not do justice. the hotel interior is way nicer. The hotel is in a very beautiful location, you can sit and just enjoy the scenery for a couple of hours. Breakfast was also good with plenty of options. Staff was really helpful.
We liked it quiet, but not too far driving to Hallstatt. It was a good 10-15 mins drive away from Hallstatt. The neighbourhood is lovely with beautiful scenery. Though you will smell cow dung occasionally but that doesn't stop me from loving this place!
A great choice to spend some time in Gosau. Nice views of the mountains and valley, great apartment with all the things one could need, comfortable beds, plenty of space, working wifi, friendly owner and Tony the cat. We really liked it there.
Hospitality is the best. Awesome location with beautiful view, very calm and peaceful, and the staff are so welcoming. We loved our stay at Sommerhof Hotel. We will visit again. And the food at the restaurant is also amazing.

Good location: Gosau village is only a few hundred meters away: pizzeria, café, etc. all within reachable distance. The Gosau lakes and the Dachstein Massive itself is only a 10-min drive from the house! :)

We loved the location! Gosau is an adorable little town with trails galore and a beautiful setting so close to Halstatt and the apartment itself was so clean and really well done.
