Bioweingut Schmidl, hotel in Dürnstein

Offering a garden and garden view, Bioweingut Schmidl is located in Dürnstein, less than 1 km from Dürnstein Castle and 28 km from Herzogenburg Monastery.

Excellent stay! We had a very pleasant three-night stay--couldn't ask for better. The rooms are new and well thought out and designed. The location is an easy walk from the old town of Durnstein so you can get away from the busyness of the old town. If you're arriving by train, the station is right around the corner but the trains are quiet. Breakfast was excellent and prepared and served by Theresa, the owner. Theresa knows how to take care of guests. She answered any questions we had and made excellent recommendations for restaurants.

Winzerhof - Gästehaus Stöger, hotel in Dürnstein

Located in Dürnstein in the Wachau Valley, just steps away from the Danube River, Winzerhof - Gästehaus Stöger features a garden, a bicycle storage room, and bicycle rental.

The location, the location and once more the location, it is perfect. Just about 150 m from the Hotel Schloss Dürnstein and as close to the Donau as possible and parking on site. What else could you ask? Of course, Donau Radweg. But at the Gästehouse Stöger the cycle road is just outside the door. And you have a garage for the bikes. Breakfast is also very good.

Wachau-Living, hotel in Dürnstein

Set in Dürnstein, Wachau-Living has accommodation. The units have parquet floors and include a seating area with a flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area and a private bathroom.

Our stay here was wonderful. We were in this region for the first time and right during Easters. The landscape was in blossom and the house has gorgeous location . Completely baby and dog-friendly - safety courtyard for day-stay, position close to cyclopathways and walking pathways are right behind the door. Excelent even for bike storage. Only parking is little bit far (for us with so many stuff for baby and dog), but this is acceptable with the position of house. Nice nighbours, everytime in good mood. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean and wine delicious.

It's an old monastery that is the hallmark of the village. The village is about one millenium years and has a fortress ruin overlooking it all. The forests and mountainous hills all around is a magic place for hikes and discovering amazing castles and churches.

Durnstein is a strange village; the old centre is attractive and interesting, but you get a feeling that it's a ghost town. It seems to exist for day trippers, and it doesn't have a life of its own. The only shops are tourist shops - no pharmacies, no grocery shops, no stationeries selling newspapers and magazines.... Some eateries close by 6pm and after that, it really is a ghost town.

Unfortunately there were some problems... . The WiFi inside the room did not work. I have asked twice and it was fixed but for just a few hours... so I had to use my data plan on my phone. Bed was very uncomfortable. It was a double bad but... with some board in the middle, with one side of bed being higher than the other part and squicking on every move in the bed. The only way I could shower was if I was holding the shower had in my hand..... which made it impossible to wash properly my heir and.... water was splushing from defecting shower head. Breakfast was great.... people were very nice but... I would not stay in this hotel again.

I stayed here with my wife, two young daughters, and my in-laws. We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. Everyone was so helpful and service oriented. The pool was perfect for us to relax in. The food is excellent at the restaurant and the views along the Danube are gorgeous.

Beautiful picturesque town in the Wachau valley.

Beautiful picturesque town in the Wachau valley. Lots of wineries nearby and some cute restaurants in the town itself. Very walkable. Touristy by day with people coming from Vienna but insanely quiet by night. We felt like we had the whole town to ourselves!

The place is modernly furnished, and our room was spacious and fully equipped with plenty of storage space. We were pleasantly surprised to find basic ingredients such as salt, oil, and others in the kitchen. The accommodation is conveniently located right by the river, providing a refreshing place to cool off during the summer. Additionally, Dürnstein is within walking distance, offering a pleasant stroll through the vineyards. Free parking is available right in front of the accommodation. The owners were nice and friendly.

Pension is situated in the beautiful, very historical old building in the centre of Durnstein. It is probably the most nice village in the region and is the perfect base to discover Austrian Danube valley. Guest are provided with the free parking right outside of the centre, only few minutes walk to the accommodation. The room was nice, clean and cosy, the breakfast was available every day until 9:30 and it was good. Pension has a small terrace yard, which is perfect to sit and enjoy the sun and read a book.

Amazing hotel with great atmosphere. Everything was just wonderful. Lady at the reception was friendly and helpful. Staff in the restaurant was very kind, food was extraordinary and live music on Friday evening? What a nice surprise. Room and bathroom were like from the real castle. I was travelling with two kids and nothing was the problem, bed for the son, crib for the little one, they even got some nice presents. We didn't have time for swimming pool, but we will definitely try it next time.

The room and facilities (grill, sauna) were great! We ordered the breakfast one day which was plenty of food for two people twice. We also ordered the grill package and had a lovely barbecue twice. For being so “far” from Krems and Dürnstein we found the location perfect even without a car. The bus stop is perfectly located and it comes every hour. We also walked to both Dürnstein and Krems for tourism and groceries respectively and it wasn’t difficult. Great long weekend :)

The location is exceptionally picturesque comprising endlessly terraced grape vines with the mighty Danube River in the foreground and deep green pine forested hills behind. The food in the region (Lower Austria) was sensational, the hosts were exceedingly friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation (fully contained apartment) was modern and immaculate. We definitely intend to return in the future.

Loved the location - the property is located in the heart of charming Durnstein (much cuter than Krems and Melk to stay in). The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean and exudes local charm. We were able to park in a parking lot about 5 minutes walking distance. Nothing we did not like! Lots of restaurants, stores, and a delicious bakery nearby!

Gästezimmer Rolea was a great place to stay with a very welcoming family, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The house is in a great location on the edge of Durnstein and very walkable to the attractions in town. Breakfast was extensive (particularly for a smaller B&B), and the place is very dog friendly.
