Good location - close to the epic hiking trails, but further from the bus station.
Hospitable staff !!!
For the breakfast they provided scrambled eggs (just without any vegetables) - that's a plus compared to other hosterias/lodges I have stayed throughout my trip in South Patagonia.
Hair dryer was not provided in the room but you can barrow it at the reception!

Beautiful town, lots of places to eat and have a beer; know that the weather is extremely unpredictable and hardcore: we had insane winds when we there in beginning of April. We got lucky enough to see Mt Fitz Roy the first day we were there but every day after (3 days) it was covered in clouds, so take that into account for your trip!

Amazing place that can be the base for many adventures!
Amazing place that can be the base for many adventures! We planned our trip to Patagonia leaving more time for El Calafate, but we left thinking we would have preferred to switch this! In El Calafate, everything is much more tourist like and you need to pay for basically every tour you’re going to.
Chalten felt more chilled and like you can just leave the hostel and go do your own thing without necessarily paying for an agency to take you somewhere.
It’s a very charming little place with great food and local beers available, so very cosy and welcoming after a long day of hiking

We loved El Chalten!! The hiking is incredible!
We loved El Chalten!! The hiking is incredible! And the town is adorable. Love the little local food places. Since the weather is so variable it was nice to have an extra day in our schedule to wait for a clear day for hiking. We all filled it with horse back riding, climbing and birding so no one was bore.

Located under the towering peaks of Fitz Roy, this town is a special place from which to explore the Andes. There are walks to suit all levels of hikers and the landscape is just breathtaking! The people of el Chalten are especially kind and friendly also.
I booked the hotel, but on the day of arrival, they have no room left because of arrival of a large tour group. hotel staff Mariana put me in a different hotel, which has a kitchen and living room, very nice and large apartment. because there’s no breakfast in the apartment, she told me to come back for the breakfast. she also helped me to exchange dollar to pesos so that I have pesos for meals and taxis etc. she is very friendly and helpful. thank you so much, Mariana!!
Lovely hotel with lots of Charm. Located next to the bus station - so that is good + bad. A very ample breakfast buffet is provided with the room. Hotel also offers a nightly meal for a fee. We found the night meal to be very competitively priced and VERY good. Highly recommend. We had a very large family room (all that was available at time of booking.) If several people were traveling together - this room would work well - 3 separate bedrooms within one room.
The place is kept clean at all times. It is very well located in the center of El Chaltén a few minutes away from the bus station. The wifi was better than expected. But the real gem are the people who take care of it. Thank you Diana and Agustina for always being so friendly and helpful. The world would be a better place with more people like you.
And thanks Agustina for working overtime to prepare an early breakfast that came with an unique piece of art :)
Staff was fantastic. They were friendly and knowledgable and worked very hard. The kitchen accommodated early starts and had many options for breakfast. Eggs were made to order for those interested. After very dusty hikes (very dry in El Chalten area), we appreciated hot showers and soaking in the deep tubs. Location was in the center of town and within walking distance of amenities and trailheads.
The hotel, facilities, and staff were all fabulous. The large windows with the valley view was an unforgetable way of greeting the morning. Breakfast was ample, wide choices, and high quality. Dinner was fabulous. The jacuzzi/hot tub with the mountain view was a perfect way to relax after hiking. The staff were great. Location was perfect, particulalry with a car.
Good option in El Chaltén. Best asset is the staff, huge thanks to Fatima for all the tips and help provided. The rooms are clean, the common space with wifi noce to have, although pretty noisy with the restaurant downstairs. Location is good on one of the main streets : 20mn walking from the bus station, but only a few minutes away from the laguna de los tres trail.
The staff were super chilled and helpful. Let me leave my stuff overnight as I went camping! The common spaces are nice especially for El Chalten (all other hostels I went to didn’t have this). Kitchen is big but dirty. Could be cleaned more.
The staff here are the best ! Also really really good breakfast and the place is kept clean at all times . Thank you for making el Chalten such a special place 😊 gracias a todos en Lo de Guille
