Coming from the south of Europe, I've always fantasized about Lapland, especially in winter. It has always been my dream to marvel at snowy landscapes, reindeer, and the aurora borealis. This property made my dreams come true. I considered staying in Rovaniemi in the city center but decided last minute not to. I'm so glad with my choice. Rovaniemi is just a city, nothing really special. This property is only a short drive from Rovaniemi and right off the main road. It's in a forest area with some nice hiking just across the road. Upon arrival I was greeted by the host. He showed me around the room quickly. It was in a sort-of private add-on to the main house, on the other side of the porch. It's a nice wooded building with a bed, couch, table, small kitchen. Attention to detail is noticable, there is even soms oil for cooking and sugar and coffee (even filters) to use, so kind. The bathroom is huge and includes a sauna. What a treat. There is floor heating which is really comfortable. Right on the end of the small road that the house is on is a smaller forest area with little trails to walk on the snow. On two nights that it was clear I spent some time there to watch the aurora. I may have been lucky but I saw it on every night I was there. What an amazing feeling to be in this beautiful snowy landscape and to see the aurora! For everyone looking to find a base to stay in to explore northern finland, this is a great location to stay a few days.

A wonderful, fully equipped vacation home for us with a decent, friendly and caring host, preparing everything in an excellent condition... We felt welcome starting from the night we entered the front yard. The outdoor lights were turned on and inside were nice deco lights and a small christmas tree! Kitchen has all utensils and even things like spices, ketchup, mustard, sauces, tea, pasta were left over from guests before - check before you go for groceries to buy unnecessary things ;-) Don´t miss jumping into snow, coming out from sauna while steaming - nobody is there to see or disturb you... ;-)!

Everything. Great location, looks both in and out, cabin is like a mini house, with living space downstairs and adorable bedroom upstairs. Huge bathroom, with wood burning sauna!!! Property is equipped with a small kitchen, perfect for a simple meal. The best hots on the planet, not only did he meet us to show us around the property, but he was right there when I locked myself outside. Visit with confidence.
