There is a fireplace in, which warms it up super quickly and adds an unbeatable cozy feel. The chalet is small but you have everything you can possibly need for a few days stay. And the hosts are lovely so I am sure they would accommodate any other reasonable requests. What I loved the most was the company of animals: the horses, the dog, chicks, sheep. There were also a couple of cats who, alas, never came close to me as they were way too busy having fun in the fields, so I just enjoyed watching them from afar. Winsum is beautiful too: the canals, the churches, the houses. No wonder it is rated the most beautiful village in the country. The location is great for a starting point to explore the area: Pieterburen, Groningen, Lauwersoog, the Wadden Islands are very close and so worth visiting.

The location was great, in a little village, with plenty of space for oudoor life. There are many possibilities for outdoor activities or for simply staying in the garden/ reading/ playing board games. There are some chicken living freely outdoors - that have the best eggs. We loved our stay, in such quiet place. The owners are very kind and helpful.
