The property was beautifully crafted so as not to disturb the stunning surrounding nature. The wooden and thatched finishes really added to the natural look and feel of the environment. The open air restaurant as well as tables and chairs nestled in what I loved to call “secret hiding places” as a child was so thoughtful and made me smile. Every area felt cared for and appreciated which I really felt from the moment I arrived. Barbara, Lars and the team are just incredible. Everyone was so attentive and zen but I appreciated they also allowed me my lone wolf time so I never felt disturbed or intruded upon during my quiet time of reflection and rebooting. I highly recommend Jungle Beach and I cannot wait to return!!! I am already anticipating my next holidays to revisit!! Thank you so much All for such a beautifully relaxing and restful time!! PS - On a separate note the food is also amazing and I often saw guests from neighboring hotels eating at Jungle Beach also! But most amazing is the hospitality of Rasi, Chami and especially Anwar who always went extra mile for caring of us. The breakfast was lovely, freshly home made and varied every day. It was really hard to leave the place.

What a peaceful villa, where the birds' singing matches the calm in our mind. Surrounded by nature, it feels like a cozy herbal retreat, with the comforting scent of Ceylon cinnamon. The colours are earthy, and the views are wide, giving us a sense of freshness. We were able to relax in the beautiful rooms, take walks in the gardens, and sleep well in the comfy bedroom. And just beyond, there was a tea plantations, adding to the serenity of our stay. Plus, We could see breath-taking mountain view and tranquil greenery views surrounded by paddy fields. I've never stayed in such a serene place in Sri Lanka before. Here, fresh air is always at our fingertips, inviting us to breathe deeply and unwind. Staff is very nice and food was amazing. When I'm writing my next book, I will stay here for a long time for sure.

Our stay at Ocean Pearl Cottage was absolutely fantastic. It was characterized by top-notch quality that made us feel as though we were sleeping in a hotel rather than a guest house. Our room and bathroom were all spacious, immaculate, and so pretty, with the bed being exceptionally comfortable, to the point where saying we loved it would be an understatement. I cannot say enough good things about the owner here! When Sam, the owner of this guest house, is away working on a ship for extended periods each year, his friends step in to manage the property in his absence. We were fortunate to meet Sam, who proved to be the most exceptional host throughout our 2 1/2-month trip through Sri Lanka. Sam is incredibly kind and always goes the extra mile to ensure that every aspect of your stay is flawless. The breakfast was truly exceptional. Each morning, we were treated to a diverse spread that included fresh juices that were simply fantastic. He even provided vegan options for me, which I found to be not only delicious but also greatly appreciated. Upon our arrival, I was already struggling with a dry cough, and he prepared an ayurvedic drink to help me feel better - showing his thoughtfulness and care in a way that meant a lot to me, especially because I did not ask for that. Throughout our stay, the owner was incredibly attentive and funny, always ensuring that we were comfortable and happy. We enjoyed engaging in conversations with him about life, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that we will always remember fondly. He even cleaned our room after a few days without any additional charge, providing fresh towels, and allowing us to use his fully equipped kitchen. Additionally, he offered us the use of his scooter for touring around at no cost. And that's not all - he even cooked dinner for us three nights in a row, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight.
