The surroundings, the atmosphere, the beautiful attitude of the staff, Meghan the German Shepherd and Molly the ownerdog, the monks, the chapel and gardens, the wood we needed for the fire. Just everything. Even the other guests were amazing!

The property was on a lovely farm just outside of Franskraal. We felt very safe and secure. The owners were very understanding and helpful. Everything inside the house was fully functional and the house itself is very large and spacious.

What an amazing find! Some of our group of 8 wanted to enjoy shark cage diving and we came across Benguela and struck lucky. The whole atmosphere is one of relaxed sophistication, with beautiful and quirky decoration and artwork. The bedrooms lead out on to a pool area, which is quite intimate, but was not a problem as our group had taken the rooms. There is a stocked fridge in the room and the shower has plenty of power.
The real Gem of this place is Jonathan and his team. We opted to join for dinner which was the most amazing experience at the big, shared table. The experience started with gathering in the lounge for drinks and meeting the couple of other guests, then moving into the incredible dining room for a 5-course banquet, complete with paired wines. All the time being entertained by Jonathan and his very friendly hounds.
Breakfast the next day was of course both tasty and beautifully presented.
We had a couple of other requests. Like borrowing some towels and checking out later – all of which were kindly met with pleasure from our very accommodating host. We would be very happy to stay again…… you can book for the dinner even if you are not staying. Highly recommended.

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
Staying at Hemel 'n Aarde Stud farm was an amazing experience. The cabin was super cosy and had the perfect mixture of rustic charm and modern comfort. Waking up to views of the fields and horses was incredible, and we loved taking walks around the property. What a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway!
An unbelievable view to the sea side with an exception al lovely, regional and organic breakfast! The staff is helpful, kind and friendly - we felt like staying with a family! Everything was super clean and even parts are wheelchair friendly because of the big sizes of the rooms and the terrace. And shuttle brings you whenever you need to the nearest places for free and the nights were super quiet and restful!
Great location to explore wine farms in the hemel en aarde region. Property itself had many amenities mentioned on the website but also some others like boardgames and bowls. Was a very modern cabin feel.
Excellent staff ensuring all your needs are attended to.
Best breakfast with attention to detail. Tastiest breakfast ever!!
Complementary shuttle service
Beautifully kept, amazing rooms, the friendliest and most welcoming staff. Great breakfasts.
Shuttle service into Hermanus (5mins) really useful and complimentary. Would definitely stay again.
Thank you for making our stay so great
We really enjoyed the tranquility and the flow of the cabin really open and enjoyable. Inside outside living on point with the sliding door leading to the backyard. The community clubhouse and pool area was just awesome and the lovely walk to lagoon and beach, breathtaking sunsets, just WOW! Thanks to the host Rudie, for providing accurate info and making our stay very pleasurable. The wife and especially the Kids loved it. Will recommend this place and give it a full 10 out of 10!
Great location. Clean and neat. However, not all the wooden windows at the chalet were able to shut completely. With the strong wind that was blowing all night this was a disaster and we were unable to get a good night's rest.
