For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
Amazing hostel. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and funny. The dorm is spacious, clean and has comfortable beds. Activities are cheap and amazing. The food is tasty and very affordable. This is the perfect type of hostel for solo travellers to meet other travellers of every age and background. You can reach the place by taking a bus like citiliner or intercape to Mthatha, Coffee Shack will pick you up with their shuttle (160 rands for a 1.5 hour drive).
The staff are exceptional here, super friendly. I stayed in a hut which was perfect, really comfortable bed and clean. There’s an evening meal which is great for meeting people but there’s also a kitchen to cook in if you wish. Again super clean and everything you need.
They organise plenty of excursions, my only regret only staying for 2 nights!
Perfect location, lovely rooms along a wooden balcony, big bathrooms. Michelle is a super friendly host, she makes great breakfasts & dinners. The large deck outside the dining room is a cool place to relax and watch the ocean - and the passing dolphins if you're lucky!
Steve and Rachel were an amazing host the whole stay. They have been a huge help with recommendations from getting there to walking trails and nice restaurants. Steve even picked us up after a long hike.
The family is trying to make a sustainable living with a beautiful garden, animals and rainwater collection. The breakfast included eggs and veggies from their own production. A big inspiration in our world full of overconsumption.
The hut is nice and clean with a beautiful view where we were lucky to see dolphins from.
Special place in beautiful coffee bay. It offers a shuttle service to pick up at mthatha . great bar and restaurant, lovely common outdoor chill area, cute rondavel hut dorms. clean showers. free dinner on sundays and organize trips and hikes! work together with locals from the villages around. recommend 100%
Lindie was a wonderful and gracious hostess who made us feel at home in this beautifully rustic and intimate (there are just 2 chalets at Sunset B&B) setting. Accommodation is clean, comfortable and thoughtfully laid out,. We chose to have dinner and breakfast there, (going with Lindie's recommendation of catch of the day)- both excellent! It was truly a special experience in a special part of the world!
