For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
The accomodation was lovely and the view was supburb. Everything that was provided met our needs for the stay. There are quite a few things to see in Oamaru and the hut is close enough and also far away enough to be removed and private with the bonus of the outdoor bath.
i thought that the cabins were roomy, and nice, and was very impressed that the heater was turned on in our cabin before we arrived , and we had a nice warm cabin to enter, I was also impressed with the lovely warm shower block and toilets, not the freezing cold ones you normally get at campgrounds...we will definitly be back... thanks guys.
Beautifully situated in the Oamaru countryside with a great view from the door. The hut has a double bed, small table, sink, two ring hob and toaster and is more than sufficient for a few nights stay. The bathroom area has a shower, basin and a bamboo composting toilet which was absolutely fine with no smells at all. The owner provides alpaca food to feed the 3 alpacas and 2 sheep nearby to the hut. Overall our stay was excellent with a friendly, efficient owner, a pleasant hut with a great view. 5 out of 5 for our stay.
There was more in the cabin than we expected including linen and blankets, and towels, inside and outside chairs and table, bed light switches which made it easy for reading in bed and not having to get up to switch off!!
The ammenities block was very tidy and clean, with plenty useable equipment in the kitchen.
It was close to town, yet you were out in the country. Such a beautiful property. Loved our cabin - spacious, clean, very comfortable, loved the decor, well appointed kitchen.
Quirky and fun from the gypsy caravan shaped cabin to the alpacas and sheep that greet you every morning. We loved our stay here and feeding the critters was a delight.
