The pool is part jacuzzi, so that was a pleasant surprise. Quiet surroundings with a fantastic paddy field view. Kitchen had all the necessary utensils with a decent supply of spices and condiments. Would definitely come back here.

From the formal side: Very good European cuisine every day, ocean right in front of your door, amazing wild life and very attentive, approachable personnel, which suits all of your needs. From my heart: Apart from a really incredible picturesque location, which would really touch something inside your inner world, the staff’s scrupulous attention to your needs makes this stay unforgettable and gives the warmth as if you are staying at home. Honestly was probably our best stay in Sri Lanka. In the past we ran out into an issue that reviews/photos on booking don't reflect the reality but not in this case. The property looks better in reality. Super clean and we had everything we needed and staff was so helpful. It is a 10 minutes drive from the beach but you can rent a scooter from the property. And it is super quiet, we had such a relaxing time having breakfast with squirrels and birds. The villa was build by the owner family and you can tell that they are proud of their work and they maintain it very well. Overall, amazing, book there you won't regret it.

My stay at Mirissa Eco Hills was exactly what I needed! Located in a tranquil sanctuary of lush green foliage, I loved falling asleep to the sounds of nature outside. I arrived to a nearby bus stop and got a tuk tuk for the short journey to the accommodation. The owner Suronge is a delightful, accommodating and thoughtful host. He showed me where to walk to reach Mirissa, which ended up being a beautiful walk through the Sri Lankan countryside, a highlight of my stay in Sri Lanka so far. It’s not far, 20 mins walk. He recommended a restaurant to get the best and cheap Roti in Mirissa. In the evening Suronge even offered to pick me up some food or drink from the town as he thought I hadn’t eaten all day. Breakfast the next day was brought to my room at a time that suited me! I had delicious veggie roti, coconut pancakes, a banana and a pot of tea. There was a lot of love and care poured into the breakfast and it tasted delicious. Suronge was so kind, accommodated my check out time and ordered me a tuk tuk for when I needed it. The spacious room had a big four poster bed and a balcony that looked out to rice paddies. I enjoyed watching life pass by from up on the balcony. The bathroom had plenty of hot water too. My only wish is that I had more nights to stay here. Don’t hesitate, book this for your tranquil country side get away immediately. You won’t regret it! The value for money is incredible.

Departing was bittersweet, as we had grown attached to the unparalleled hospitality and the tranquil ambiance of our temporary home. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Our host went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable occasion, adding a personal touch that truly made me feel special. Without a doubt, if I ever find myself in Sri Lanka again, Charming Dark Lodge will be my first choice for accommodation.
