For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
The hotel was 7 - 8 minutes walk from the train station, not particularly easy when you are with your suitcases. However, the hotel offered free shuttles so it was not a problem at all. There is a 7-11 convenience store just 2 minutes from the hotel. My room was in Japanese style, very spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of room for you to move around. The onsens were exceptional. There were two of them. One dedicated for hotel customers, while one opens for day-trip customers. They were not crowded so it was kinda enjoyable to use them.
Wonderful family run Auberge with beautiful comfy beds overlooking the forest. Lovely baths with gorgeous toiletries. A little out of town but a shuttle is offered for transportation. Fabulous dinner with a very unusual but delicious wine pairings. Breakfasts were delicious.
It's a cute homey place. The owner was friendly and accommodating. The room was warm and the bed was very comfortable and had lots of storage space. The view from the room was spectacular. The shared kitchen had all the essentials and I really enjoyed my stay. The guesthouse provides a shuttle service for no additional cost in the morning hours. The Hida Folk village is at a walking distance. The bus stop and convenience stores are 4 mins away.
When we arrived we were met by the lovely owner who showed us around the place. I don't know if they had a cancellation, but we got upgraded to our own little hut separated from the main house, with private bathroom, living room and upstairs bedroom. They have two outdoor private onsens with breathtaking views of the mountains. We had their dinner and breakfast option and it was absolutely supreme!
The ryokan is very beautiful.
The hospitality was awesome.
The kaiseki dinner is very delicious and they bring you so many different things to eat.
It was a wonderful experience.
We also bought the manju biscuits from them.
They provide also a bus shuttle to the station which was very helpful.
We stayed in a traditional ryokan room. If more than 2 nights I probably would opt for a full bed. It's a big hotel, but peaceful and quiet.
The in house public onsen was magnificent. The shower room in the room itself is small, more comfortable to have a shower before the onsen.
Facilities are great. Breakfast Buffet choices are similar every day which is fine. Good selection.
Walking distance from train station but also has a shuttle service which is convenient.
Would stay again.
Location very near the station with a shuttle, and within 15 min walk from the main streets. The Onsen is lovely. Very spacious Japanese style room. Friendly and accommodating staff, we had an issue with the room, but it was solved promptly and efficiently.
The location is walkable from the station. Room is of good size. The onsen facilities were excellent. The free bus shuttle service to the station was great especially when it was raining.
Great property with a spacious room, own toilet and sink and the best food! Location was very convenient and the shuttle service to the station was exceptional. Definitely recommend staying here!
Beautiful place with old wooden beams. Super friendly staff and nice attention to detail. A great experience if you set your mind to enjoy, relax and shut out technology and distractions, probably good with a family too. Hot spring was a delight - but maybe consider the private bath if I someone else is in there. Breakfast Is a real banquet of food in a beautiful dining room. The atmosphere is wonderful - have breakfast as early as possible so you are the only one in there.
