Thoroughly enjoyed our family stay at the Madarao Mountain Lodge. Used it as a very convenient base for 3 nights to ski the Madarao, Nozawa and Myoko resorts. Jono and Catherine are very welcoming and we had a wonderful stay. We had a room with a private shower and everything was clean and worked perfectly. The Raicho lodge is well located (5mn to slopes, flat), very neat and well maintained. Jono is very attentive to his guests needs and make sure the place is always welcoming. Breakfast is simple but generous (bread, cereals, etc). We know where to go when we go back to Madarao!

Great little lodge with lots of charm. Clean, comfortable, and great location right at the base of the ski hill. If you want a smaller ski hill with the same snow as Nozawa, Togari is a good spot. Little onsen in the basement was nice too. We felt it was really good value here for the price. Gábor, the guy running it, was very friendly, and went above and beyond to help us find extra ski gear when we showed up lacking. Really saved my day on the hill!
