It was clean, cosy, homely, host thought of everything! Lots of family games, blankets and pillows. Even had a bottle of Prosecco left for us in the fridge! Would 100% book again and that’s very rare for me to say.

Looking for a cabin?

For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.

Bang on for The Feathers. I was a little surprised to be allocated a chalet at the back of the carpark, but, BUT it was spot on, big and spacious with the best shower I've had in ages., cudos to the plumber. The bar prices were VERY reasonable, nearly as cheap as my local WMC and the grub (evening meal + brekky - self serve) was spot on too. 10/10 for The Feathers.

The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Cyclists should stay here if on The Way of the Roses. Our chalet room was spacious and had a bath with shower. There is free parking. The breakfast was great too.

Our twin room was in a chalet at the back of the pub which was a bit fun! Our twin beds were comfy, with a decent number of hot drinks, and a big bathroom. Staff were friendly and let us put our bikes in their shed. The pub itself is nice with friendly staff. Surprisingly a lot to do in this small town. The buffet breakfast was very good.

Located in countryside a short drive from York ( I was going to Ebor horse race meeting). Easy to find on main road A1079 from York. Nice motel type cabins with all facilities. I had good evening meal in the on site restaurant (The Spokes) all part of the reception area. Breakfast was also there. A good choice of cooked breakfast served to you. Help yourself to juice, cereal and tea / coffee. Had tea pot to make your tea in too nice touch.

For the amount i payed for, i was expecting much more! I did not realise the cabins were shared into apartments and therefore not private. There was not much to do that was included in the price apart from the gym.

It's a lovely location - we had lots of fun meeting as a family with the BBQ and fire pit. The Shepherd's hut was lovely and the bed comfy. Having tables and chairs in each hut made a big difference and meant we could all sit together outside. Thank you.
