The campsite and gardens were very picturesque and I liked the style and cosy feel of the half shepherd hut I stayed in. There was a nice village pub within easy walking distance of the campsite which does food, has friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. This is The Crown. I also loved the flower garden with the outdoor table and benches. Nice to watch bees and butterflies around the flowers. Very colourful. The Potting Shed was nice to sit in and relax too, and you could keep drinks or food cold in the fridge provided. Loved the chickens running around, too. Very nice, supportive staff at the glamping site. I had had a personal relationship issue just recently and was very unhappy, but staying here was so relaxing and nice, I was completely lifted by it. Definitely a ‘wellness’ break.

The Oaks Glamping - Rubie's Shepherds Hut, hotel in East Dereham

The Oaks Glamping - Rubie's Shepherds Hut, a property with a garden, is located in Colkirk, 32 km from Blickling Hall, 19 km from Castle Acre Castle, as well as 24 km from Holkham Hall.

Took my bf for his 21st bday and it could not have been better! The Rubies Shepherds was amazing with a lovely squishy bed and quaint kitchen and fridge area. The room was complete with a portable fan to keep us cool on the heatwave of a weekend we turned up on which was a relief 🤣. We got to have a fire pit one night, met the chickens onside and they also had a huge bbq at our disposal if we wished to cook sausages and burgers. No complaints here!! Huge thankyou to Dave and Emma for creating such a memorable, special and comfortable experience 💗

The Oaks Tent Pitches with no accommodation supplied and you must bring your own tent, hotel in East Dereham

The Oaks Tent Pitches with no accommodation supplied and you must bring your own tent, a property with a garden, is located in Colkirk, 24 km from Holkham Hall, 27 km from Sandringham House Museum &...

Found this little gem on booking.com, I’ve never seen a tent pitch advertised on there before, my signal wasn’t great and looking for camping down south isn’t easy, so many restrictions compared to up north, what a relief it was to find this place. I was booked in for a tent pitch but when I arrived and saw the little cabins, I couldn’t resist. The bed was super comfy, the facilities were great, much more than I expected, it’s certainly great value for money. I’d definitely go back, it’s a lovely place, the communal space is really well done, ideal to book up with friends or if you’re on your own. Emma and Dave are a lovely couple, great hosts, very welcoming and down to earth. I loved my stay, would go back in a heartbeat :-)

It was a good town centre location, a modern building and very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and polite and gave a good impression of the Wetherspoon chain of pubs. The bar service was very good and the meals arrived promptly.
