Nekattegama
At the luxury tent, every unit is equipped with a desk. There is a private bathroom with bidet in every unit, along with slippers, a hair dryer and free toiletries. At the luxury tent, all units come with bed linen and towels. Really good location close to the national Park. We were originally supposed to stay in Green Sapphire but they let us down a few hours before we were due to arrive (seems they’ve done it a lot looking at the Google reviews), but the Mango Villa team had everything sorted even though we booked just a few hours earlier that day they were still able to organise 2 full day safaris for the following 2 days where we saw all sorts of great wildlife. Staff are all really friendly, especially the man who brings the food across in the evenings (unfortunately I don’t know his name). The food is good especially considering the remote location and nice packed lunches for the safari each day. Definitely the place to stay if you’re planning a Wilpattu safari!

Villages and wilderness in the surroundings. Great sense of being in the wild even though it’s not located in Wilpattu NP. Staff were amazing and knowledgeable about the wildlife.
It is very close to the entrance to the park. Very welcoming and kind hosts, couldn't do more to make our stay just perfect. We went on a safari with Susil, we did see plenty of animals including a leopard. Susil is brilliant at spotting willd life when orhers just drive by. The room was small but very clean and comfortable with a mosquito net and air conditioning. Their little daughter Divina is just beautiful.
We really enjoyed staying in a tent in this small eco-lodge near the entrance to Wilpattu. The owner is an academic who is exceptionally well informed about the flora and fauna in the park - it was a great experience to go on safari with him twice. The tents are basic but comfortable, and the outside bathroom turned out to be much better than we feared! It is a very quiet and secluded place to stay. The food was also delicious.
Friendly welcome, great food and organised everything for us with ease. The safari was excellent as we were conscious of finding one that was respectful to the wildlife, our naturalist guide and driver were exactly that. Best Sri Lankan breakfast, so tasty!!
Wildlife experience! Safari was fantastic! Food was good and service is excellent.
Welcoming staff with a real interest in wildlife. Safari arranged from here was very good. Food was good too.
We had me of the best sleeps there during our whole stay in Sri Lanka! They have really comfy glamping tents and huge outdoor bathrooms. The safari was THE BEST and one of the biologists who runs the lodge accompanied us and told us so much about the wildlife.
Anta was a great host!! He knows a lot of the flora and fauna. He is gentel and helpful. The dinner was nice and the setup beautiful! We took also a guide for here to willpattu park. We didnt see the lepard but it was a great adventure. We recommend half a day is long enough for the safari. The accommodation is just lovely. Clean and quit with your own little veranda.
Fantastic stay. Very friendly welcome right through to leaving after 3 nights stay. Roshan and his family make it feel like you are a special guest. Home cooked local food for meals which is very tasty! Organises the safari for you easily. Wow, what a safari it is. We managed to see LOADS but mainly the Leopard and Sloth Bear. Rooms are big and also hot shower. AC worked well. Comfy bed. Tea and coffee in room. Fridge in room. Hairdryer. Easy to recommend.
We had a lovely bungalow with a big verandah. The bed was super comfy after lots of hard, thin mattresses in other hotels. The place runs like clockwork, which was great for us as we were on a tight schedule. We had a delicious buffet dinner the day we arrived and then were up early for a well organised safari the next morning. The owner is very friendly and enthusiastic and his family are also lovely. I really enjoyed walking down to the lake in the afternoon.
