Birds singing and the murmur of the sea. The owners from Holland are very friendly. Carmen is an excellent cook, at the same time a very nice and helpful hostess. She will be happy to advise you and help organize trips and transfers by water taxi. The joint dinners were a great experience both gastronomic and social.

The Lodge at Punta Rica- Hilltop Eco-Lodge with Views & Pool is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Bastimentos, where guests can makes the most of its pool with a view, private beach area and water sports facilities. The property features pool and garden views. The bed and breakfast has family rooms. Punta Rica Lodge is nestled in the Bastimentos island jungle, surrounded by beautiful flora (trees, colorful flowers) and fauna (amazingly rich wildlife). We loved our super friendly, open, fun and helpful hosts, Brian and Daniel, who have made us truly feel at ease and among friends in this beautiful place. Most nights we ate dinner together, since Dan cooks the most amazing and varied dishes, all from fresh, local ingredients, while Brian makes wonderful cocktails that made us feel at home and among friends, sharing stories, dreams and travel adventures. We loved the pool and the common area (living and dining room), as well as our amazing suite, the delicious and fresh meals and the smiles. Thank you. It was one of the most amazing experiences ever.

The holiday home consists of 2 bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge and a kettle, and 1 bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. Towels and bed linen are provided in the holiday home. Angie is the most amazing host! The jungle house she build is awesome and we've had a wonderful stay. Angie is well connected and can help arrange tours and transport. She has some great suggestions on where to eat and things to do on and off the island.  The community living on Bastimentos is lovely and the town feels like something out of an adventure novel. The house is situated right on the jungle trail to Wizard Beach, where you have a chance to spot birds and wildlife. Mere 50m from the house you have Mami's Restaurant, who is somewhat of a mother figure in town and is a great cook! There is also a small nature reserve an adventurous 20min walk from the house which is a must see on Bastimentos. Although it first looks like a garden, the reserve is a gateway to the jungle on the island. Within an hour or so we've seen sloth, capuchin monkeys, cayman and redfrogs. Also Mami's super sweet dog aptly named Princess might show up at the house and demand cuddles. She is somewhat of a local celebrity and you'd best abide.

Located in Bastimentos, Eclypse de Mar Acqua Lodge offers private bungalows and rooms with individual hammocks and stairs that provide access to the ocean. A restaurant is also on site.

A private terrace is offered in each bungalow at Aqua Lodge. A glass panel is inside the bungalows, which guests can use to obverse marine wildlife under their feet. Impressive sunsets and sea views can also be enjoyed from each unit. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Perfect location, great friendly staff and few silly dogs that make the family atmosphere. We stayed in the room in the main building and it was clean, not noisy at all. I particularly enjoyed the hammock on the front porch. The food is good, it is in the panamanian price range (so it can seem expensive, but it’s similar in the whole Panama). There is a nature park on the property, where we saw sloths, red frogs, kaymans and other animals. We also highly reccomend the guided tours with local guides, they are super nice and there is a lot to see. :)
