The breakfast was great too. While staff didn’t speak great English, they helped me negotiate various Chinese apps to book tickets up there Shanghai tower. A great price too! Win win win.

Welcoming staff, which do his best to help even if not english speaking (traduction apps helped ). They are patient and find a solution. An excellent value for money ! The property is a 10-minute walk from Xin'an River and Daizhen Park, a 10-minute drive to Huangshan Railway Station and a 20-minute drive to Huangshan Bus Terminal. Huangshan Airport is a 40-minute drive away and Huangshan Mountain is a 1-hour drive away. It was wonderful to stay in an old house on Gulangyu. I especially enjoyed the breakfasts--simple, delicious, and served in a wonderfully cozy room full of plants and small animals. The small staff has a nice human touch. Great all around! I also liked that the windows were operable, and that there were several outdoor patios to enjoy the balmy weather.
