Its Dili’s only hostel and a nice place to stay. Its fairly basic but also cheap. The rooms had a bed and a shelf, and a fan in the roof. Breakfast is toast with fried egg. Free tea, water and coffee available. Walking distance to Timor Plaza and the buses to Kupang, which is convenient. I liked the two cats, very cute. Its shared bathroom. Great hospitality from owner and workers

Although a little limited in variety, the breakfast was sufficient for my preferences. Could do with some labels especially when there are meat options. This way, guests would not have to keep asking the staff what meat is in the fried rice for instance. I love the way they serve the coffee (non-machine), makes for a pleasant experience.
I also appreciate the fact that the establishment hosts training centre/school for hospitality and making chocolate etc. Hope my stay contributed to their sustainability.

The property suited me perfectly but I'm aware that it would not suit a lot of other tourists. It is located in a local suburban area and not within easy walking distance of the main attractions or facilities. I liked that it is in an area where 'normal locals' live and provides a good understanding. There is one inexpensive 'Western' style cafe within a couple of blocks.

The courtyard is a beautiful oasis. The staff were so lovely and helpful.
For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
One of the few budget options in Dili, this has a nice vibe and a chance to meet other backpackers. It's pretty basic and could do with some TLC, but the owner is friendly and helpful. Location near Timor Plaza and the number 9 microlet route is also pretty good.
Location is easily walkable to waterfront, museums and cafes/restaurants. Very clean and extremely friendly staff.

Great location, theirs a shopping centre below with about 20 shops. Four small supermarkets and a dozen food places. The rice and bowl is the perfect place for a morning coffee, maybe the best coffee I have ever had.

This is a new budget option in Dili, attached to a restaurant and bar popular with Timorese uni students, and good for people watching from the balcony. Basic but very clean lodgings with fan and cold shower were sufficient. Very accommodating owners. Excellent location downtown. Cheap airport transfers and scooter hire.
This is the cheapest option in Dili, and by standards of accommodation in the area is good value.
The host is friendly and helpful.
There is actually some WiFi at reception which is rare here.

Room is quiet and dark to sleep at night.
Despite all the issues we would probably end up staying here again just because everything else is so unaffordable. But we would also probably just not come back to this city until better accomodation was available at our price point.
