Such a lovely location. We stayed in a building away from the main house but we went to the house for breakfast in the morning. Peter was a very good host and lent us (together with another two couples staying there) his car to drive into town to have dinner at the pub. Peter made fresh bread for breakfast which was delicious. Wifi was available at the house and surrounds but I'm not sure about where we were staying - we didn't try, we were happy just to soak up the beautiful countyside.

The property was very convenient to the Central Otago Rail Trail and close to the town pub/restaurant as well. The host was extremely kind and there was a nice location to park our bikes. The outdoor spaces were really lovely. If we had good weather, this place would be so charming. The bathroom/shower area was really nice, and even though it was shared, I never felt inconvenienced. There was also an adorable little shed area that was set up as a reading nook/game room.

Good food and beer, comfy bed. The staff were nice and laid back, nothing was too much trouble. I stayed on a Saturday night and the place was humming which is great to see in a country pub these days. Nicely out of the way but also right on the rail trail. I was there to explore local history ie Hamiltons and Orongapai so the hotel was ideally located for me. Thus is a special hotel in a special part of NZ. The owner, Mark, was very busy but still made time to chat. Highly recommended accommodation.
