A great hostel, large rooms, cozy, lots of greenery and communal spaces, although not many people were there during my stay. Huge kitchen and dining area, washing machine, even tea and coffee (tea was really nice). Each dorm bed had an individual fan which was enough to keep cool, and showers had hot water. Only a short (10 min) bus ride to Galle Fort and the bus stop is very close. During my day trip to Galle Fort there was a huge thunderstorm and when I returned to the hostel, I found my laundry that had been drying outside brought in from the rain by the staff, so kind! There was also a donation/trade box for clothes people no longer wanted, which I found a very cool idea as thrift stores don't seem to be popular in Sri Lanka, and there's often need to make space in your backpack.

From the moment we entered the sunset cabana, I felt the tranqility of this place.I have no hesitation in recommending this place.The owner chathu and his family were very friendly. We felt like family form the moment we arrived.we book in the Small room, but the other room was not booked that day,so we were given that room ,the wood finish in that room is very beautiful. That room is very amazing. Very comfortable .This was the best breakfast i had in sri lanka .we also got dinner from them it was very interesting. From here you can reach galle in 10 minutes .If i am in galle when i return to sri lanka this will undoubtedly be my first choice of accommodation.The hugs on our way out were a delight to our hearts . I would 100% recommend this.

This was the nicest and most well appointed room during my two week stay in Sri Lanka. The host is very kind and personable. Also the breakfast was great, and I was served an excellent cup of real coffee (not instant).

We spent almost 20 days at the Arches Fort and it was just perfect. Rooms are big and comfortable, modern and with high sealing and silent. Always impeccably clean. Breakfast was extraordinary, western or Sri Lankan, and always a lot of food! The staff were just amazing. They are so worried about you all the time and take care of everything. Totally flexible with your schedule and absolutely made us feel at home all the time! the building is a refurbished colonial style house and it kept its character, so the common area and the internal patio is also cool to hang out. Location could not be better.
