The hotel is a very cosy, clean and charming place with lots of characters. The host, Mr Gorilla-San, and his wife made us feel very welcome. He is a great chef himself, and we enjoyed the tasty 5-course dinner very much. The breakfast served in the morning was equally good in presentation and taste. The hotel is well placed for hikers and skiers to explore the nearby mountains and ski resorts. Would love to stay there again in the near future.

The house and all the amenities provided were excellent. The place was a perfect combination of a traditional Japanese house and modern needs. I would highly recommend staying here for a night or two.

Breakfast was very good and huge, but fortunately there was the option to get rice cakes from the leftovers. Service in general very nice. Clean and spacious room, bathroom facilities also very clean.
The reception rooms and lounges were large and comfortably furnished with free coffee for guests. The location was excellent for exploring the city and there was a lovely mountain road behind the hotel leading up to the peak through lush forests. The highlight was the fabulous hot and cold food provided at the expansive buffet at breakfast and dinner. The quality and selections were outstanding. The dining room also had a wonderful view over the city and the valley below.
Location was good, only a short walk from the station. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. It was excellent value for money. Staff were very helpful.
The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful.The location was ideal for us as we had an early start (5:30am)at the railway station the next morning We only stayed one night and due to our early start we were unable to try their breakfast.
