It was also close to the lake, wineries and restaurants that we wanted to visit. The cottages have been thoughtfully renovated to preserve the period features, which we loved. The view on the vineyards and the lake is very nice and around the Birtok there are some easy hiking opportunities with lovely views. Although we were visiting out of the season and the restaurant was closed, we were offered wine tasting, organized by the owner of the estate, who was generally super welcoming.
