A relaxing holiday in a stunning setting. We had the Vassos villa which was perfect for two people with plenty of room and its own outside terrace as well as a private rooftop terrace to die for. Walking distance to taverna and mini market. There is even a fresh water spring 5 minutes walk away where you can refill your water bottles. Yes, the accommodation is a 20 minute drive from stunning beaches but we spent more time relaxing around the poolside reading and taking in the view. Finally, a mention about Jenny the owner. Such a friendly person and nothing was too much trouble. If you want somewhere to escape the crowds- book it!

It was excellent location for us for one night stopover in between visiting Elafonissi beach and Balos. The host was welcoming and the room spotless and comfortable. The place was also close to a small village where we had a lovely meal in a taverna there.

Everything was far beyond the expected average standard of Crete. A fantastic spacious terrace with a large pergola. Superb taste in the renovation of an old house in a most lovely village. Super clean, handy, cozy. The owners are outstanding: both discrete and friendly. A nice combination. We dream to come back!

It was very relaxing.
I got quickly attached to this place. Even after 3 nights it was hard for me to leave.
I loved contemplating the surroundings sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine or coffee depending on the time of the day.
Host was very helpful and nice sharing details of local beautiful beaches.

Cool clean and comfortable this cottage was excellent for 3 people. The setting was lovely in a small village and the amenities were great.
For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.

I loved staying at Velanos Villas. My villa was ideally private and the entire stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The pool is clean and refreshing and provides welcome relief in the heat. Jenni is a wonderful host - helpful and friendly but not obtrusive - and it was a pleasure to meet her. Kefali is a lovely village with good walks
Just be aware that you will need your own transport if you want to do more than relax and potter in the local area
Peaceful mountain location with superb lush views from the balcony and roof terrace. A tranquil place to wind down. The host (Irene) gave us some excellent recommendations for beaches and walks, all within a short drive away. There was real Greek hospitality in the family restaurant. We would highly recommend it and would stay here again.
Stunning location. Lovely accommodation and a warm welcome from the host. Very clean. Absolutely perfect for our needs. Local taverna is also welcoming and is just 10 minutes walk away.
We very much liked the location in the hills away from the tourist hordes; the views; the comfort and coziness of the house including the great fireplace with plenty of timber provided. A great base to explore the west coast of Crete and its beautiful beaches; and then return to the peace and quiet of a hill country village. The house was spotlessly clean and a very nice welcome from Jenny including flowers and a delicious apple cake.
Irene and her family were so welcoming and helpful during our stay. The accommodation was very clean (in fact, it was spotless). The roof terrace has outstanding views - we loved sitting up there and watching the world go by. The food at the Panorama Taverna was also fantastic. We were sad to leave. Great value for money. I would definitely recommend it. A car is a must as this is a great location for local beaches - Elafonissini and Kedrodassos. It was also possible to do a day trip to Paleohora from here.
