Firstly a big thankyou to Stuart and Kathryne for the way they looked after us during our two night break at the Westgate Manor- From being welcomed at the front door when we arrived to waving us goodbye, they were the perfect hosts.
The homecooked meals were a real treat, from the slow cooked beef in the evening, to the lovely full English breakfast, you could tell they were freshly prepared and extremely well cooked. Kathryne also made my wife a bacon butty for breakfast when my wife was not very hungry
The bedroom was a delight , four poster bed a very comfortable mattress and fluffy pillows to matching good quality antique furniture, underfloor heating in the well equipped bathroom even remote controlled lighting. Appreciated the fresh milk in the little fridge for our morning cuppa
After our evening meals we were encouraged to sit in the comfortable lounge with a drink from the bar in front of the cosy log fire

Great clean cottage not too far from Durham. We enjoyed our stay - the beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped, log fire was great and we appreciated the goodies Cathy left for us - very nice touch - thank you!

The location of this snug little cottage, situated in the market town of Stanhope, is ideal for walking in Weardale and only a 30 minute drive over to Teesdale. Local shops and other amenities are just a couple of minutes away. Tastefully decorated, the cottage is perfect for a family group and has a cosy sitting room, good facilities in the kitchen and an excellent shower room. Tasty fish and chips from nearby takeaway (Freddie’s) although local pub meal was not so good!
Beautiful Guesthouse in the middle of a stunning landscape. Rooms are spacious, spotless clean and bathrooms look like they have been recently renovated. Exceptional host and great breakfast. Dinner ist bookable in advance and I highly recommend eating there. Would love to stay there again, and then for a bit longer. Ideal spot for discovering the beauty of the surrounding area.
Lovely homely stay with everything we possibly could have needed for a stay. The house was very clean and nicely decorated, also the extra finishing touches for our arrival were very nice and appreciated. The hosts were friendly and keen to offer any help. Communication was good and getting access to the house was nice and straight forward with no issues. Nice location too. We hope to return again at some point, thank you!
Lovely cottage. Very clean. The living and kitchen area was very comfortable to relax in the evenings. The welcome gift of wine and cake was a nice touch.
I loved the soft white bath towels which smelt divine.
Great location for exploring.
The best equipped holiday home we’ve ever visited, I don’t think there was anything that hadn’t been thought of or provided for. The place was spotless and very comfortable, in a great location and we got parked outside the front door every time. We had one issue on the night we arrived but it was sorted so quickly and without any fuss. Can’t fault the place, would thoroughly recommend.
