The location was AMAZING - beautiful views (especially at sunset), quiet, in the middle of our hosts’ farm and right next to Foggintor Quarry! We visited in mid October with our dog. Our hosts were friendly and everything was super clean and tidy when we arrived. Towels, utensils, pots & pans, portable heaters & fans, mugs, plates, etc. were all provided (there was even a piano!). The kitchen came with a dishwasher & washing machine (with dishwasher tablets and washing powder all included) as well as a fridge and freezer. Wi-fi was great, TV had freeview, loads of DVDs, as well as things like Channel 4 on demand & Netflix etc. It was around 15-18 degrees celsius when we visited so we thought it might be cold inside the property but it was well insulated and the fireplace kept the whole property warm. All in all, it was a great stay and I couldn’t recommend it more!

As one of the most remote B&Bs in central Dartmoor, the secluded Wydemeet has footpaths in every direction just from the garden gate. Featuring free WiFi and free private parking on site, it is just 20 minutes' drive from the A38 road, which leads to both Exeter and Plymouth.

We had the perfect stay at Wydemeet, loved everything about it. Mary and Freya are wonderful hosts who really make you feel at home. We had a beautiful, spacious and clean bed- and bathroom, the breakfast was absolutely delicious, especially “the Pile”! Every day Mary had great tips for things to do and to see, inside and outside Dartmoor, and she was always happy to chat. We took Twiglet (the dog) with us on a walk and on a bike trip, which we loved. What a wonderful place to be for a few days, right in the middle of a gorgeous NP.

Great location lovely old building yet had a fresh modern feel to it as well. Spotless clean couldn’t find a single fault with the place. Also really enjoyed breakfast and liked the fact local ingredients were widely used!

We were backpacking on the moors and so the location was perfect for us. The inn specialises in beef steaks and mine was excellent. The menu offers 10oz steaks but when I asked they said that they could do 8,6 or 4oz. Why not say that on the menu? It would have put me off going there to eat if I was a local. The breakfast too was excellent, though there were no juices or ceral out for us to help ourselves. I think that makes it easier for the staff to deal with, very sensible. The bed linen was lovely and the bed very comfortable.

The room was ideal for a family with the separated single beds which the kids loved with the curtain. It was very clean and the complimentary tea, coffee and sugar was so convenient.

This was an ideal location as I was meeting up with friends. The room was nice and quiet and well fitted out for self catering although being lazy I preferred to dine out. The host were really friendly, a great place to stay
